Happy dogs sleep in mysterious ways. Always waiting for me to leave the couch so he can steal the warm cushion.

My sons Great Pyrenees had 8 pups the other night. First one came at 2:00 AM and the last 12 hours later so momma was pretty tired. The grandkids were excited, but as you can see the littlest one fell asleep next to all the action. It was fun for me being with the grandkids as they were excited about the process, and seeing the looks on their faces as a new pup was born. It was a great teaching opportunity for my daughter in law and she did a good job explaining the process.

 

Elora (the new momma) did a great job and I too was amazed by how nature works it’s magic. Now the fun begins as these little squeaky white pups grow into 175 lb giants.

Since married to my wife, our dog's names (by my insistence) were of course all golf related! We've had Lexie, who passed last December, Jordan, and now, welcome to the family, Paige.

Beautiful Mom & litter of healthy puppies...doesn't get much better!  I can almost smell the puppy breath.  They are so much fun!  Are most of them spoken for already?

My son's family lives on 25 acres in Orofino Idaho. Apparently this breed is popular here because of all the cattle and sheep, and Great Pyrenees are bred to guard herds. Some can be very protective and are intimidating due to their extraordinary size. The sire is less than two and is already well over 150 lbs. But other than his size there is nothing intimidating about him as he is a silly dog who is quick to plop on his back for a belly rub. 

 

My daughter in law thinks they will sell quick as they are purebred, but the economy in these parts is somewhat depressed so she  hopes to get around $500 each. 

 

They're still at the squeaky blind rat stage, but I too am excited for when they are running around biting ankles. And my wife shares your fondness of puppy breath.

Yes, GP's are silly gentle giants, great with kids,  very laid back most of the time.  I wish your DiL has much success in placing them in loving homes.

They were! Been asking for a pup for awhile. He's a ix of a Bernease Mountain dog and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We have heard anywhere from 25 - 50 lbs.

Went to Vermont a few weeks ago and lots of dog hikes and dogventures. This one was taken on the summit of Mt Equinox in VT (longest paved privately owned toll road in the US, and 2nd tallest mountain in VT)

Pups are a month old and getting bigger. A couple of them have already been reserved and they should be ready for adoption in 3-4 weeks.

We got our first foster tonight.  3y/o lab mix to go with our 2 Aussie cattle dog mixes.  Combined dog IQ might outpace mine, lol.

Gosh, I haven't been here for a while and I sure do see some awesome additions to some great dog families.  ALL are just too cute for words, and so lucky to have such loving homes.  💙

My son’s family that had the Great Pyrenees puppy experience last summer are now experiencing one of the heartaches owning a dog sometimes brings. Buddy, the sire of the litter has been missing for a week. The grandkids are crushed and have been posting missing dog posters all over the area. They live in a rural area with lots of potentially dangerous game so anything is possible. Owning a dog brings lots of joy, but also lots of pain. In the end it’s worth it.
