My wife lost her Jack Russell Terrier several years ago and mourned his loss more than she did for her mom, who she was very close to. Months of crying at night for her little buddy. He was her constant companion when she wasn’t feeling well and gave her a lot of comfort. I never thought she could love another dog like Hercules, but then she got Toby- a miniature Weiner Dog. He not only filled a void but he has wormed his way into her heart so tight I worry she won’t do well when he finally goes.

Some dogs just have naturally gifted happy loving faces. This is a bonus I feel. You sir have a pair of them.

Thank you Touch. The big one up front is Misty. She is an 11 year old 100lb. Black Mouth Cur and a couch hog. And the pirate behind her is Taxi, a 3 YO 55lb Beagle / Basset mix. Taxi is a bit of a rock star around here on the island. Everybody knows him.  They both live for the boat and the beach. I have another couple pics of them earlier in this thread ill post back up. They sure get and give allot of love and what's kind of cool is the snowbirds down from the North that miss their dogs get to love on mine all they want, makes everybody happy..

Maybe 130 KG, that is a big dog. You would need a snow shovel and leaf gabage bag to follow him around the park..

Now here is a REAL dog.  😯  Caucasian Ovacharka Shepherds can grow up to 230 lbs.

Our sweetheart Coco, on her first and last days with our family:

 

We "adopted" her from a little girl (and her mom), out of a cardboard box on the sidewalk outside a grocery store.  Coco was there throughout both of my daughters' childhoods (note the car seat in the first pic, and it's former occupants in the second).  Lots of road trips, hikes and camping, etc.   Kidney failure at 16 y.o. took her a couple years ago.  It was a sad day, but we were glad we could all be there together to say goodbye. 

 

On a happier note, we have a couple of micro-canines these days:

 

The scruffy mutt on the left is Augie, and is a sweet "old soul" at 3. He's smart, and seemingly exists just to make us happy.  The fat cheweenie on the right is (supposedly) my younger daughter's.  Good thing we have Augie to "lead by example" because that one isn't the sharpest tool in the shed (the dog, not my daughter). But he is a lovable PITA, and is a good buddy for Augie. 

 

Taking the dogs out somewhere  where they can run free and just "be dogs" while we take a stroll has always been one of our favorite ways to relax.  I can't imagine not having dogs around.
