Got a gc2 on the way..need some help

So...I’m not planning on buying the sim software anytime soon.  I’d like to see the graphic of a ball flight. So it looks like I have two options..the ipad app and the fr1 range software you can buy off ebay. 
 

Is the app even a option as the ios app store ratings are bad?

 

If I get the range software I have to buy a computer that will run it but I want to get one that will run the fsx simulator program if I choose at some point to go down that road. Looks like about $500 for a refurbished computer on ebay to do that.

You have another option. You will still need a computer with a decent graphics card, but you can get the GSPro software for practically free right now. Tons of real courses, very realistic physics, online and tournament play. Check them out on their  discord channel or the simulatorgolftour.com website. It's constantly being updated and getting better and better.

I really hope the OP (and every other GC2 user for that matter) went this way, the GSPro is just awesome.

As a new gc2 owner as of yesterday, I am grateful to the OP and the WRX community for the GSPro info. 

I told my wife I was only planning to use it on the range and in my cage in the backyard. And that was my intention, but a sim room with an integrated putting green would be fun. 
 

The FSPerformance app for iPad or iPhone will give you same info as the lcd on the unit with a few graphics for ball flight. I believe it will also save and possibly email data. So far,  I have only used for putting to drain factory charge on the battery. This is the only iOS app I have found from foresight.

 

Has your GC2 arrived yet?

Yes , I’ve had it for about a month now. I’m just using the fsperformance ipad app. It’s bare minimum but it works at the moment for what I need. I’m currently rebuilding my swing so every few days I use it to calibrate my feels as I’m hitting into a net in my garage. 
 

After the season starts here in middle Tennessee I’ll decide what I’ll use in the future.

I have a GC2 coming this week, Ill look at this too. I am moving from a SkyTrak with their software and also E6. Im starting the GC2 with Fr1 but will also consider the upgrade to the new version. So many considerations - haha.
