Club Builder Massachusetts

Anybody know a decent place to take my clubs to get some custom ferrules put on? 
 

I have a golfers warehouse nearby, and they seem to do ok, but I’d love some glowing recommendations...

 

PGA superstore is nearby also, but at $25-30 a club that’s a big bull for ferrules. It seems the pull is the expensive part, the reshaft is like $5. 
 

Any recommendations would be helpful.

I'm in Medford and frequent the Peabody one as it's closer for the indoor range but Braintree is where I did my fit and had all of my clubs worked on (loft, lie, shaft extensions--and then subsequent removals).  I recommend Scott in Braintree and don't think you'll have to worry about lack of quality over another shop.  Probably just comes down to if you find a better price elsewhere or closer to home.

Outside of the big box stores, I do not think there is a reputable club builder in Massachusetts. Strange I know. I would recommend Spargo Golf in Cranston, RI.

I would likewise recommend Spargo's in Cranston. Jon (Panone, owner) and Steve are terrific to work with!

@jerryo - Do you not think Joe and Leigh's is a good place for clubwork?

Spargo quoted me $50 per club to add a ferrule.....YIKES. I like custom ferrules and all, but $450 is a lot for some color.

I'll second the Joe & Leigh's option just down Rt 24 from you.

 

I've yet to hear someone be happy with Spargo, to be honest.

xkilgoretroutx - I guess you missed my previous post, above. Spargo, both under its current ownership by Jon Panone and its founder Tom Spargo, is the only shop which has worked on my clubs for over 20-years. I'm very happy with them.

Frank Viola of Ace of Clubs TP in Saugus MA.  Pretty expensive though, but top notch work.

I went to Spargo in December because I was interested in having them do an MOI build for me.

 

Hit a bunch of different shafts to figure out what MOI worked for me.  Jon said he wanted to try a few more shafts that he would order.

 

Never heard back from him again.  Little disappointed as I was fully ready to have them build me an iron set.

Dave DiRico’s Golf Shop in West Springfield, Massachusetts has an excellent reputation. They are located in the south western part of the state a stone’s throw from the Basketball Hall of Fame.

I saw your post. I should have been more specific - people I know, and have played with, have not been happy with Spargo. I have yet to hear anyone I personally know who has been there say they would go back, or recommend them. Some of the reasons have been noted above by other posters.

I know they do loft and lie adjustments as well as grips but don’t know about other services. Great pro shop, I was just there a couple days ago.
