Stupid round ....career best 64 on unknown course in western Tennessee called Bent Tree . Supposedly 6k from whites but some tees were moved up . 16 GIR's and 26 putts made for a memorable round.

Shot -1 in my weekly 9 hole league. Pretty short course. Bummer was when I decided to get aggressive on the second par 5. Creek runs through the fairway, so it's typically an iron off the tee. Alternative is to attempt a 285-ish forced carry. Slightly downhill, with a little helping wind. So I decided to give it a go.

 

Hit it really well and cleared. We all saw it bounce once. But then lost where it finished due to the way the hole's laid out. Looked and looked. Couldn't find it. Only thing we could come up with it is that it must have gotten a bad kick and trickled into woods about 15 yards off the fairway. Oh well.

90.  Still trying to figure out how to play again after about 15 years of not playing more than once a year.  It's getting better.  Front nine:  3 pars, 3 bogeys, 3 doubles.  The doubles were each the result of one awful swing.  Back nine:  1 birdie, 2 pars, 3 bogeys, 2 doubles, one triple.  The triple was unlucky, but the same thing was true of all the big numbers:  one bad swing that put me in a position I couldn't recover from.  

 

Uphill putts = my nemesis.  Just too much of a coward to get them to the hole.  I hit one really good chip all day.  The rest were serviceable, but not good.  Those two things cost me about six strokes.

 

Working on it.  When I hit the ball well, I can still score well.  It didn't help that I was playing with a 20 something year old who hit his pitching wedge when I was hitting a 5-iron.  Played at about 6000 feet of altitude, and he hit that wedge 180-190.  I've never hit with someone with that kind of swing speed.  That probably cost me a few, as I butchered nearly all of my 5-irons.  😉 

 

Still, great day at the course with my dad, and the good holes will keep me coming back.

Had the company golf outing yesterday, my scramble team finished -9, tied for third with about 4 or 5 other teams. Winners and 2nd place were -13, -12. Had a solo eagle on number 16 which was cool. Fun day overall.

Love starting my round with a birdie. Not an easy bird, but straight forward.

Shot a 91, new PB, but it was from the white tees so the handicap is actually gonna go up .1.  Today was day one of the member/guest and we played modified stableford, pick up after double bogey.  I had several double bogies, but I only had one that I had to pick up that would have been most likely score of a triple, so not bad.  Highlight (or low light) of the day was our 4th hole, 16 par 3(started on 13).  The hole was the hole-in-one prize (10k).  My partner hit a a shot to 3 feet and was going to be CTP.  I hit my shot and it hits the slope behind the hill and stops for a second.  I thought good, I'm on the green.  I bend down to pick up the tee and walk to the cart, the group says, "its still rolling."  I look up and watch it roll right past the cup.  The girl working the hole said it was within an inch.  It came to rest (in front of the hole) about 5".  I did win CTP, a pair of nice logoed whiskey glasses, but $10,000 sure woulda helped fill them.

 

We fished day one 5th in our flight.  Got to play better tomorrow.  Cant have the missed 2' putt like I had today.

Shot a 45 today on a course I had never played before. The original plan was to go to one of the indoor driving range with my nephew because the forecast called for rain all day. When we get there however, they are closing in 5 minutes for some reason. Luckily there's a golf course right across the street and it's one I've been wanting to try and the rain is supposed to hold of for at least an hour. I'm pretty proud of my score considering I didn't even roll any putts on the practice green or even really warm up.

I shot a 60 today, +2 on a 9-hole course par 29, playing each hole twice.  While this is (sort of) a personal best score to par, I really just wanted to share how comically close I came to a hole in one.

Had time to get in a twilight 9 this evening over at TPC Vegas. One of the best ballstriking days I've had in a long time - 6 fairways, 7 greens ... but for the life of me I can't figure out those cursed greens.

 

37 with 2 birdies and 3 bogeys. Sigh. Summerlin can't re-open soon enough 😂

-2 on the front....and then a horrible back nine with 2 doubles ( one was a 4 putt- but I blame an incredibly stupid pin for that one)

71 . 1 Under par on a tough track ( 73.2/144)  that I have only ever played once before last year.

 

Was just on it yesterday, felt myself burning out from too much golf, took a week off and sometimes that is exactly what is needed to play well.

43-39, 82 from the Black tees in round one of our men's club championship. Tied for first in our fourth flight after day one. Happy with that result. Coolest thing of the day was when we saw an ace from the adjacent green on 16, had a beer after the round on them.

45-44, 89. Not my best day, had a chance to win the flight but couldn't hold on at the end. But, 171 over two days from a back tee setup is only one off my goal so I'm pleased with that. Chipped in from 40 yards for birdie and almost had an ace so had some highlights too.

I took my revenge on my ball on the next tee shot: 262 yards over a lake. That's total yards. That's pretty much the longest I can hit on that hole in those conditions.

73- 2 Over Par at my home course yesterday. 6850 Yards ( 72.1/ 142)

 

Course was set up firm and fast for our Jr Club C's going on that day. 

 

Caught a few good breaks with some longer birdie putts but also missed some shorter par putts to get up and down and made a bad bogey on 18 trying to knock one close and stuffed it in the bunker.

Last round was all about survival. Course got a lot of morning rain and was cart path only, so I decided to play at 3pm and walk the course playing from the tips. When I made the decision, there was full cloud cover and the temp was about 88. By the 3rd hole, all the clouds were gone and the temp was 94 and super muggy as the water evaporated.

 

Shot 43/44. Definitely left some shots out there, but I survived and kept it under 90 so not an awful day.
