What'd You Shoot Today?

77 today, few horrible shots and a few great putts. Working on my set up the last few rounds and starting to see signs of improvement.

shot 77 and walked haven't had cigaret in 2 weeks has got my swing all messed up, but health is more impotant than swing.

 

I had smoked from I was 19 until 5 years ago, tried to quit several times with various methods and did not work until the last try to quit cold turkey.

I quit for my kids, and the most important thing is, never, ever start just one puff of anything. I have a freied whom quit for more than 2 years and one day on the golf course he was offered a cigar and took it. He's still smoking now.

Your game will improve after you get over the nicotine withdrawal, especially your nerve needs sometime to be normal, but you'll have a better game afterwards.

You'll always have the tempation to smoke again regardless of the reasons, just fend off the first 15 minutes of urges to smoke and you'll be OK.

I actually had a nice experience today -- I went out with my father and my 7 year old nephew to play the first course I played when I was a kid -- a little 9-hole, Par 30 course that was every bit as enjoyable as it was the last time I played it (about fifteen years ago). Played pretty well, actually... shot a 35, but the best part was just all the memories it brought back. It felt nice to add another generation to the mix.

Shot a 2 over 75 (par 73). The greens were sanded and had a hard time on a few holes on the putting surface. Started with a birdie, but had 4 3 putts on the fist 10 holes. Then my game went up, drove the green on th 13, egaled almost, birdie, on the next hole birdie lipout, same on the next hole, and finish with two birdies. Overall, 5 birdies, 1 double and 6 bogeys on the scorecard.

72, even par today on Wildcat Golf Course in Houston.

 

My best score on that course and it was close to being better as I missed a couple very makeable putts.

 

After being sick for the last couple weeks, I was not expecting to hit the ball great and maybe because I just relaxed and had fun - I ended up hitting the ball beautifuly off the tee and shooting a good score! :)

 

A little windy and mid 70s PERFECT day in Houston today. Nothing makes you feel better than posting a good score for your game!

 

BTW, the Patriots are going to ROMP on the Giants. Would not surprise me to see them cover the spread in the first HALF!!

Smooth 76 with only 1 birdie. I realyy can explain how this is basically a microcosim of my life/game.

just a terribly boring 79, was demo'ing a different driver and hit 4 fairways all day. but I can't lay it all on that.. the longest put I made was 6 feet. When i think about some of the shots I hit like shanking a 60* while trying to drive it in low under a branch, or 3 putting from 12 feet.... the 79 actually doesn't sound that bad.

I shot 69 on a par 70 course in washington today. I shot 38 on the front and then on the back played out of my mind and shot 31 with 5 birdies and 4 consecutive birdies on 15, 16, 17, and 18! It was the second best round of my life.

this was a tale of two or three different round I was four over through four and three over through 14 got a bad break on my nemisis hole almost saved the bogey got sloppy on the next hole for another double weird round over all I hit the ball pretty good

79. Was a struggle to get the tee into the frozen ground. The greens were hard as a rock too. But hey it's February in Ohio! I'll take any round I can get in.

Shot 42 (+6) yesterday, only got 9 in since the course was closing for the game. Short sided a lot, could not get up and down, had no touch. Only my second 9 of the year so far, seems like it takes a few times out to get my touch around the greens back. Also, dead grass around the fast greens, tough to get underneath a chip that needs to land softly.

shot a 45 on the front of a local muni course. one double, one par, seven bogeys. finally started hitting the ball decently on the last two holes.

 

pretty disappointing effort. i hate shooting in the 90's range.....

Only got to play nine today, but shot 39 on a completely water-logged course. Looking forward to some dry weather, although we need all the rain we can get in atlanta.

I played yesterday at a local muni type course. Made 5 birdies and an eagle and shot 69. Played the par 5s 5 under and the par 3s 4 over. Was a great day to play, 80 degrees and sunny. The course is pretty easy but I'll definitely take it.

Shot 81 today in howling 20-30 mph winds at Sharon Woods, an excellent local muni. Missed two 5 footers that would have been nicer for my scorecard and ego if they would have dropped. A good day overall. :)

Not too shabby 86 with another beautiful 37 putts. Only 1 double and 1 triple for the day coupled with 7 pars...3 birdie putts within 15 feet and not even close on them...damn I need a putting lesson bad!

haha, sorry to hear that man, but i feel your pain on putting. i think i had something like 20 putts on just nine holes today. definately a bad putting day around the golfing world or something lol

 

shot a 44 on nine but my short game was garbage where i had been on fire around the greens recently. had killer weather though, great day to be out there....:)

Changed my irons on Thursday to Ping I3 Blades with Project X 6.0 shafts. I think they are going to stay in the bag for a while.
