Ventus Blue in 3 wood

Hey all - ended up switching back to the AD-DI in my SIM driver and have nothing to do with my Ventus Blue 6X (with velocore). 

 

Have any of you folks played this in a fairway? Thinking of picking up a SIM 3 wood head to throw it in and just butt trim it.

 

Too light? Need to tip it more than the 1" it already is? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

If you like the tour ad di and want more weight try the rogue black 80g fairway shaft. Brilliant in a 3 wood and good weight. I think having the correct weight is more important than flex in a 3 wood

To answer your question, I think it would be too light and you’d end up messing up a good shaft. I’d sell it and buy a ventus blue 7x or blue 8s

That was my concern, it's pretty light for a fairway.

I wouldn't cut it as it would end up getting too light.  Should be an easy sell/trade anyway and then you can pick up something for the fairway.

Ventus installation instruction call for no tip trimming for 3w length. So you could just put it in a fairway wood and trim from the butt end. 

 

Maybe a little light overall but not unworkable.

I might just try it out and grip down for a bit before committing to cutting!

Very similar profile to AD-DI in driver. I wouldn’t cut it to 3w. Sell.

That's what I had hoped when I got it but I just can't seem to get it to perform. I've been gaming the DI for probably 10yrs and just can't knock it out of the bag.

 

Consensus seems to be sell/trade the Ventus...

Did the same thing. Can’t find the middle with the ventus. Mine is currently for sale. Lol.
