ASICS GEL-COURSE ACE SHOES

Anyone have any feedback on these? Or for that matter Asics golf shoes in general? I love their running shoes but finding an outlet that carries the golf shoe line is near impossible. So I would be buying pretty much blind. These have me very interested.

I wore their golf shoes for a couple years - though its been a few years since I last wore them.  I thought the quality was excellent and fit/etc was good - no complaints.

I have ASICS golf shoes (2 pair).  The Sunbelt and the Gel-Ace Pro.  Both are excellent.  The Sunbelt is more breathable summer shoe and the Gel-Ace pro much more Waterproof and heavier.  I wear Asics sneakers because they fit my feet best and the Golf Shoes are no different.  When my Sunbelts finally wear out, I'll get the Course Glide or a small nubbed trail running shoe.

I have several pair of the ASICS Gel Course Duo BOA and they are easily the most comfortable golf shoes I've ever worn.  I tried ASICS golf shoes a few years ago - they were OK but had a really high heel drop that I couldn't get used to.  After wearing ASICS running and tennis shoes the last few years, I gave them another shot when the Gel Course Duo BOA was released, and I'm glad I did.  They are lightweight and clean easily (at least the blue and black ones do), look great, and are incredibly comfortable.

Keep in mind that ASICS only has a 1 year waterproof warranty (at least they did for 2020) on golf shoes.  Not a big deal for me, but it may be for some.

I'm used to wearing their running shoes so I would have no problem with these, honestly if they had spiked version with laces I'd buy a pair. Buy spikeless only has laces and spiked only has BOA which is so dumb.

These shoes in the Valero Open day 6 pics are pretty cool but I couldn’t find them anywhere online so I assume they are some tour only model at this point?

I don't think Hideki ever wears models that are available in the US.  Asics has a more extensive lineup of golf shoes in Asia/Australia that we never see here, and personally I don't think the US gets the best of what Asics has to offer at all.

I like the Gel Ace TOUR 3 BOAs and am always tempted to just order some on ebay and see how they work out.

Asics are my go to walking the dogs (big GSDs) and running shoes.  Tried many brands, always ask myself, "why didn't I stick with Asics?"

I'll have to give their golf shoes a try now that easier to get in US when I need another pair.

For those of you who wear Asics golf shoes and running shoes both, the Gel Kayano series in particular for the latter, do they tend to feel the same on your feet as far as support and sizing go? The Gel Kayano series is possibly the shoe most suited to my feet of any shoe of any type I've owned. I play golf in the Gel Kayanos and it's never a problem. But I'm playing dry conditions most all the time. If the golf shoes would feel the same on my feet as the running shoes do, I'd buy a pair. I can always return them if I don't like the fit, but (and acknowledging the uniqueness of everybody's body and shoe preferences as a result of that) it would be great to get feedback from those here who wear both.

First round out at Chambers Bay today in the Gel-Course Glide. I wanted some shoes that were breathable for dry weather. These certainly performed. Extremely comfy, I walked 25,000 steps today, the majority in them on the course, and no achy feet.

The Gel Course Glides are super comfortable and have a good grip. My only gripe about them is that the tongues are narrow and tend to slide to the side for me. You can see what I mean if you look at Tupperwolf's left foot in the picture he posted. Apparently it isn't just me where they slide around.

They are not good in wet conditions but aren't designed to be.

How is the sizing? I wear a 10 in FootJoy DryJoys, and 11 in Adidas Code Chaos.

For me, I thought they ran a touch large. I wear either 10.5 or 11 in Nike or Adidas. My Asics are 11 and are a bit longer in the toe. Not clown shoes bigger but definitely a bit more room than my other shoes. I probably could have comfortably worn a 10.5.

The sizing question totally depends on what your basis of comparison is. My running shoes have been Kayanos for the last 10 years - the ASICS golf shoes are comparable sizing. I wear a 10 in both (and NB, and Adidas)

If you are comparing them to Nikes, they are probably a half size bigger than normal Nike golf shoes, and significantly bigger than the Janoskis. Those are tiny.

The gel course duo boa definitely run big but are very comfortable. Did have to order, return, reorder and had to go down a half size. Honestly I could have still gotten away with going down another 1/2 size to a 10. Wear 11 in every thing else for the last 20 years.

These shoes are the most comfortable golf shoes I've ever worn. Nice wide toe box. Yes, they do run a half size or so large but my PGATSS had 'em on sale, not much inventory, for $119 so I got 'em 1/2 size too large (but they're fine). 👍

The Gel Ace runs half a size big and has great traction, stability and comfort. Prefer these to the Adidas Boost and Ecco Bioms I typically wear. Breaking in two pairs for a Bandon trip.

the mere fact that you had replaced your Ecco Bioms with the ACE has me really curious.. Are they really that good ??

are the ACE pretty "stiff" out of the box ?? or are they sneaker soft right out the box ??
