Do any oems carry legit TX flex shafts

Can you get a legit Pro orange TX or an aftermarket ventus black (for example) these days from any of the oems when ordering a wood or hybrid or are most of them altered in some way? Thanks

Titleist has the Raw White 2.0 TX as a stock option in the TSI3. Ventus Blue was also the only "made for" shaft for Taylormade in the SIM. Real Ventus Blue or a Ventus Black shafts will be an upcharge shaft for just about any OEM. On the Blue just look for the Velocore logo by the tip.

It varies by shaft manufacturer on the 'TX being better' thing. Some lines like the Tensei (not the CK Pro as all of those had exotic materials in them) and Diamana lines from Mitsubishi - usually the TX is the one with the better materials. With the Ventus black like you said above - there is no difference in materials in the TX flex or R/S models. The only difference is the flex rating, but they all have the same stuff in them.

You have to do research as its a per-shaft-line basis.

Not entirely true.  As others here have stated, SOME companies TX flex uses better/more expensive materials so it's not just about the stiffness.  It could potentially mean tighter tolerances and/or better feel.  Sometimes the TX flex is also a completely different bend profile than the X flex which means it's a different shaft all together.  The Aldila Rogue White was a perfect example of that.  The TX flex had the profile that was more similar to the Rogue Silver and all the other flexes had a bend profile that matched more of the Aldila Tour Blue shaft.

Graphite Design is the only one of the big brands where you shouldn't have to worry about any of the shaft deception schemes. They are always what they say they are.

They were doing quite a bit of stuff for TEE a couple of years back.  Depends on who you ask, but some say the GD shafts were not the same.🤷‍♂️

I don't think the there's much of a difference between the TX and X flex for GD besides the TX flex being a few cpm higher.  Feel wise they are almost identical and bend profile wise as well.  I've tested a few shafts in their line up in both flexes.

They have the raw blue available as a no up-charge option as well, IIRC they are the only OEM currently offering any sort of TX without an upcharge. Srixon did for awhile with the tensei PO, but no longer IIRC

yes some do use different materials or have different profiles.

The point is TX doesn't automatically mean better for everyone.

You shouldn't approach it where a TX shaft is magically better than an X one and need to look up the shaft and figure out what fits you. Some people just think TX = better which isn't true. People have egos and want to be like the tour pros or whatever. 99.9999 % of people (Golfwrx pure ballstriking, 300 driving, every hole 3 putting 10 handicaps included) can't play a trono 75TX, it will be terrible for them and feel like rebar.

Its just i have played TX mitsubishi shafts for a while and know they fit me, i also have an interest in trying the ventus line. I was simply trying to find out if i could order a club with a shaft that had a chance of fitting correctly instead if immediately having to toss it away.

You can get them from any oem, but most options will cost you a large up charge. They will clearly state the up charge or exotics and you can be assured it’s the premium shaft. Most companies do offer a few premium models at no up charge though.

On the plus side if you do decide to have adapters swapped on the shafts you already own, switching from a PING adapter to just about any other brand is a breeze. Length on the other hand with a new adapter is a whole different discussion, but adapter wise you should be good to go with no tip trimming to cover up tip prep, etc.

if you don't care that's fine -- but if the OP was looking to buy straight from the OEM instead of having to piece it together, its a reasonable question to ask.

the statement that 'lots of companies x are stiffer than other companies tx' is irrelevant as he may not be looking at the stiffness but rather the materials/performance of a certain brands tx compared to the x.

Sure but just because you put a TX label on something doesn't mean its legit or better. That is the whole point.

I can put a TX label on any shaft, it doesn't make it good or better than the X version. Yes that holds true for some shafts where the TX is a different profile with different materials.

It's not talking out of both sides. This is pretty basic. TX doesn't always mean a different profile or materials. Yes, it can sometimes mean that, but it's not always true.

The GD and LA shafts feature no different materials in their TX flexes. The aldila and mitsubishi do.

Its implied, IE "legit TX shafts" implies that they're always better or different, hence the word legit.

If you read what I actually wrote as I stated it multiples times. My point was that it's an arbitrary designation and I wouldn't be overly concerned if one shaft is TX or not. Like the ventus line doesn't have a TX, so if you have the perception in your mind that TX is good for you and that it means something, you'd exclude the ventus line from consideration when obviously lots of people like them (myself included).

This is golfwrx though so everyone likes buying fancy shafts and thinking it will make them good at golf, even ones that don't fit them.
