The Grassland fees are a little wild, but I am looking at the Sport Membership. It's only $10k initiation and dues are $275 month. It's a 45 min drive for me, but it gets you 12 rounds a year which I would just expense as you still have to pay the green fee. Id only be going up there to play with clients so I am really trying to justify it.

Maybe I’m just desperate, but you get access to their practice facility and both clubhouses, pool, etc. I never play on the weekends cause of family stuff, so I think 12 rounds would suffice given I have friends at Westhaven, Governors, and BCC….i also don’t play much between December and end of February.

I just really enjoyed the vibe out there and both courses are just as nice as most private courses here in Franklin. I am really chewing on it.

So you'd be paying $1,100 + the standard green fee per round in year one, then $275 + the standard green fee per round going forward (assuming they never increase the price)?

Hardly seems worth it to me...

If it was my own money I don't disagree, but every round I have out there minus maybe 1 or 2 would be with clients and I can expense it, so really it is the $10k up front and then $300/month basically.

It sounds like the only thing you'd be "expensing" is the green fees, correct?

So it's still $13,000+ for year one ($1k+ per round) and then $3,600 a year after that ($300 per round). It's your money so spend it how you like, but that still seems a bit outrageous to me.

Green fees are only $120 I believe, and guest fee is similar, so let’s call it $500/round.

They do allow you to split up the $10k into 3 installments over a 12 month period which softens initial blow.

I get what you’re saying. Currently about to cut my gym membership which is $200/month so this would somewhat replace that monthly cost.

It is a bit outrageous, but so is every initiation fee at any course around me. They all are $35-75k and then $600/month. The public tracks close to me are all $100 per player.

Anyone here have experience with a driver lesson or two in Nashville? Preferably outside... Never had a lesson in my life, but have been fighting a hook for a few months and am now in the low face/super high spin/high launch realm with my miss. Driver morale is at an all time low.

Already started making some changes, but just looking for a few range sessions without shelling out a ton of $. Any recommendations/connections would be greatly appreciated!

Currently in a driver predicament...

I have heard good things about the Tour Van or whatever at Hermitage. Its outside and i think pretty reasonable.

So i've actually seen Jason (The Tour Van) for a driver fit, but he doesn't do swing stuff. Pretty much all equipment, and I hate to band-aid a "crappy" swing with equipment... Just how my brain works.

Chasing scratch is hard when you're either banging it right down the middle, or toe hooking/low heel high spinning everything off the tee, but hit fairways, hybrids, irons, wedges, etc. perfectly fine.

I think my foundation is really solid, just need a few tweaks and it's so hard for me to video and dial myself in. I know what needs to happen, but doing it is the problem. I know this is WRX and we're all supposed to be elitists haha, just didn't know if anyone local had experience with some of the other PGA guys at Herm, Profectus Golf, Nancy Quarcelino at Gaylord, etc.

Erol with Profectus (Gaylord) was good when I went there. But honestly, I’ve learned to for myself through the years.  I’ve almost always figured it out before the “fitter” has helped me out.

Errol owns Profectus but doesn't do lessons anymore. Josh Bevel is his head pro and is a great teacher and guy. Highly recommend. He also played in the PGA Championship last year, so he knows what he's doing.

Farther away from Nashville but Adam Gary has helped me in the past with driver.  I worked with him at Indian Hills CC in Bowling Green.  He may be teaching out of other locations now I do not know.  He is the head coach for the women's golf team at WKU.

Adams still around there.  If someone’s making the drive from Nashville to BG is suggest going to Oldestone for lessons. I think Atticus is still there, he knows his stuff.

Got to play Legends South the other day.  Very good golf course.  The greens were still recovering from their punching, so a little slow, and a bit more sandy than I might have expected, but they rolled true, and like most bermuda greens, killed my putting.

Staff were what you expect at a private club and then some.  Plus, being a railfan, you gotta love a course that has an operational railroad running through it.  The rest of the course was in very good condition with the exception of a couple of tee boxes, but given the heat, I'm not sure what could be done.  There was nothing tricky about the course, but it did require you to hit good shots.  I would type a bit more, but I was really dragging towards the end, even with the cart, because 98* is 98*.  But a great place to play golf.  Hopefully I get a chance at the North course in the future if I am back through.
