A much younger me learned his lesson for good about on-course outbursts when I almost hurt someone with a tossed club. I’m not proud to have done it, but I’m proud I was able to make that the very last time.

Best not to take that comment at face value. Of course he can draw the driver, it's just another one of his weird excuses. TM even have a draw version of the SIM 2 that even the most slice-prone weekend chopper can draw!

So true. I’ve noted before his weird explanations of short game technic and whatnot. He thinks differently, and says what’s on his mind a lot. Just hilarious to hear him sound befuddled, like he just can’t overcome these crazy -stuck in stone- Taylormade driver designs and settings, as if he wasn’t drawing his driver like three months ago! Haha

Rory probably means that today’s tech means can’t hit a comfortable, controllable draw that doesn’t turn into a hook as easily as he can execute a controllable fade…at his swing speed. I’m sure he could easily hit a draw with whatever he’s carrying right now, but maybe it requires him to make too many adjustments to be reliable.

IMO it is what can happen when you start to bump up against certain levels of launch monitor optimization. In order to maximize your setup for a fade, a draw can end up not spinning enough, especially if you miss it in the toe which Rory has said is his miss. On the other side, optimizing your setup for draw can end up causing your cut to spin too much. This is all assuming similar swings/delivery though, and I think in the past Rory was able to make the adjustments to hit both shots whereas now he is making changes to his delivery that maybe make him feel like he can't.

Tiger says the same thing, not sure if he meant ball or club. Young T-dub could rip a tight draw and find fairways. When equipment changed he’d either hang it right or snap hook it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Had that tee marker flown off on the first strike and hit one of those two guys every personal injury attorney within 1,000 miles would have been calling immediately.
