Max is lapping almost a second a lap on his teammate in the same car. It's almost unfair to the rest of the field, Max should have to use a Williams.

It's the fight for second and third. Watching Carlos stalk his teammate and pass him on the outside. He's on fire this year, watch Sainz get second this year.

Oh i know and have heard it before. As a long time sports fan, and casual F1 fan, I just can’t wrap my head around being excited about not winning and all but knowing for sure who’s gonna win every time 🤷🏼‍♂️

F1 has always been like this. If the best driver has the best car, he's winning unless something happens. It's what the others can do with what they are given is what's exciting.

Checo was 20 seconds back in the same amazing car. Max is that good, so he would win in anything short of the McLaren. The fact he's also in the best car is now a given, unless you take him out. He's not made a mistake in 3 years.

So '26 is new engine regulations and it could shake things up with RB and Ford. But Max is still driving, so...

And therefore why being 2nd and 3rd means so much. Bcs based on what you said, if it didn’t, why bother. I totally get what ur saying though.

As for the “new engine” shaking things up. I heard the same thing about the last big change with the “new car”. All it seemed to me to do was make RB dominant instead of Merc.

The new regulations were basically made from Adrian Newey's book on aerodynamics, that's why the car is so good. The fact it's Max driving just makes it worse. Checo isn't a bad driver, he just looks bad next to Max, just like everyone does.

He will get bored soon and move to GT3 and somebody else will win. But as long as he's in a top 3 car, he's winning. Here's a look at where they stacked in qualifying.

Pending an illness he is going to win 21-22 events this year.

More yawny is that he lapped half the field - literally ten cars got lapped. Yikes.

I'm not making the transition back to Nascar but for the record here was the Top 3 finish last week in Atlanta:

Yeah, imagine I'd Max would have pushed. 🤣

His sector times were nearly identical the whole race and his fast lap was over a second faster than anyone else, including his teammate.

I can sometimes watch a NASCAR road race, but ovals are boring. Hey look, he's gonna go left, maybe he will go left next. Yup, left again.

I adore both Nascar and F1.  Nascar having a product that 15+ people could win the race every week is awesome.

I have some faith for F1 this year, lets get some more tracks. I don't think the Red Bull is 1+ second clear every week this year.

NASCAR is so low tech that wearing an Aquaman glove on your left hand gains you an aero advantage. That doesn't happen in ANY other motorsport.

F1 is made up of at least 12 of the best drivers on the planet. NASCAR is a couple dozen hicks from the South. If Max decided he wanted to race NASCAR he would have a title in 3 years tops. If Danny Ric goes to NASCAR, he might be able to do the same.

I would watch Danny Ric race NASCAR same as I watch Kimi when he does. But that's about it.

I have heard different things(I don't watch NASCAR), but doesn't NASCAR basically do some things that bunches the cars back up a few times a race? And I don't just mean yellows, like the rules call for something?  While I agree F1 is boring in its current state, manufactured "tight finishes" are no better.

Well the car isn't that low tech anymore, its almost like a GT3 car. I think low tech side by side is good.  Its not like its over in Nascar once you get a 20 second lead lol

To me one is apples , one is oranges (F1, Nascar).

F1 and NASCAR are crazy different. My favorite F1 races are the wet ones with all the tire changing pit strategy. Won’t see that in NASCAR. Love them both.

I think I've asked this before, but I'll ask anyway -

I didn't start watching F1 until 2020.

Were people whining about Lewis-Mercedes in 2017-2020 like they are now about Max-RB? Or Schumi-Ferrari in 2000-04?

As incredible as this might sound, I dont think you can compare the two. Lewis won what, 10 events in the years he was dominating, 9 or 10?

Max won 19 out of 22 last season with 21 podiums. Its crazy to even think about.

And Lewis wasn't 22 seconds past his teammate.

The reality is Max is a whole new level of elite driver and whoever comes after him might be even better. Having access to simulators early will make the transition from karts to full size easier and faster.

You might right, but here's my thinking:

Lewis was winning like 10 or 11 events with 17 or so podiums. At the same time, though, Bottas was a much better No.2 for Merc than Perez has been for RB. Mercedes had the best car in the field and two of the best drivers in the field. They were lapping everyone outside the top 5 or 6.

I think if someone like Sainz/Lando/Russell was in the RB #2 car, internet discourse would probably feel more like the 2017-2020 Merc dominance seasons because Max might actually have some competition. Instead we've got Checo in the RB #2 and he's either going to podium or top-10, and it's a dice roll on which one shows up.

I totally agree and Bottas got team orders in '18 that he was #2 and his job was to make sure Lewis won. If he would have been free to fight, Lewis would not have as many wins and maybe even a title or two less.

I would love to see Lando in the RB. I think he, then George, then Carlos. They might not beat him, but Max would be running for his life. 🤣

Lewis winning 70 percent of a season is way more fun to me than Max. But thats my bias.

In the end F1 should state a formula, not BOP racing. If a season is boring / you hate the winner, get over it. I dont want them "punishing" the best team
