Lewis winning 70 percent of a season is way more fun to me than Max. But thats my bias.

In the end F1 should state a formula, not BOP racing. If a season is boring / you hate the winner, get over it. I dont want them "punishing" the best team

Agree. Lewis can be a petulant, whiner sometimes but I’ll take him any day over Max and his team (Dad).   Wish Seb would come back, one of my favorites.

Seb's fall from winning, was shocking and upset me. But overall he seems like a kind human and I wish him the best in retirement.

So suck on this for a little while.

This makes no sense to me. Keeping the problematic guy, but losing your chief advisor, CTO, and the best driver in the world?

How has the jury and rule keeping been lately? I watched F1 since my childhood for about 25 years but Abu Dhabi was the moment I realized it had become or had always been more of an entertainment product than a sport for the ones running the show. Decided it was not worth being pissed about and haven’t really watched since.

Just wondering if there’s any development in that sense?

Do you (anyone who has watched the last few years) really think Max is 22seconds better than 2nd place? I mean, i have no reason to believe anything shady going on, but 22 seconds?? Thats an eternity!!

Yes, he's driving flawlessly. They showed his first sector times over 20 laps and they were hundredth apart. He hasn't made a mistake in 3 years. Red Bull has built an amazing car and Max gets 110% out of it where Checo is at 90%, maybe.

As incredible as this might sound, I dont think you can compare the two. Lewis won what, 10 events in the years he was dominating, 9 or 10?

Max won 19 out of 22 last season with 21 podiums. Its crazy to even think about.

Thank god for Rosberg being at Mercedes from 2013 to 2016, who actually pushed Hamilton in 2014 and 2015 by taking 11 wins in 2 seasons. At least it was competitive and the feud between the two made it great to watch.

Then Rosberg won the WC in 2016 with 9 wins.

I want more race weekend's and data points. If Max starts on pole and is .2 tenths faster or 1.7+ seconds, he's gonna win the race.  Its early in the season, im not ready to panic and claim he can win 70 percent of the weekends.

NASCAR is so low tech that wearing an Aquaman glove on your left hand gains you an aero advantage. That doesn't happen in ANY other motorsport.

F1 is made up of at least 12 of the best drivers on the planet. NASCAR is a couple dozen hicks from the South. If Max decided he wanted to race NASCAR he would have a title in 3 years tops. If Danny Ric goes to NASCAR, he might be able to do the same.

I would watch Danny Ric race NASCAR same as I watch Kimi when he does. But that's about it.

JPM was likely a top 5 driver in the world when he raced NASCAR for a couple of years, and he didn't set the world on fire.  Well, there was the blower truck he blew up when he rammed it under caution, but still...

Lando at 98-100% would make it interesting in the RB20, but I do wonder if he would struggle with Max's oversteer setup vs his understeer setup at McLaren.

If people dont care for ovals or NASCAR, thats totally cool. Saying Nascar is easy is BS. Juan took 2 wins on road circuits, came close one time at Richmond and a yellow killed him. He wasn't past his prime as he's gone to win in Indy Cars and sports cars. People who grow up oval racing have a edge of the others plain and simple. No it is not easy to go fast just because they are all lefts!

I've never said NASCAR was easy, but look at the talent pool they pick from. It's like comparing Major League Soccer to Premier League, it's just not the same. 🤣

I think saying Max or Danny would have a title so quickly sorta insinuates that tho. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So the 18 year old filling in for Sainz did well considering he only got FP3. He actually took pole in F2 before getting the call up to F1.

He said they told him "don't be a hero". 🤣

I think today will be a great fight for 2nd. Checo should be 2nd, but he's like the 6th best driver on the grid.

You might right, but here's my thinking:

Lewis was winning like 10 or 11 events with 17 or so podiums. At the same time, though, Bottas was a much better No.2 for Merc than Perez has been for RB. Mercedes had the best car in the field and two of the best drivers in the field. They were lapping everyone outside the top 5 or 6.

I think if someone like Sainz/Lando/Russell was in the RB #2 car, internet discourse would probably feel more like the 2017-2020 Merc dominance seasons because Max might actually have some competition. Instead we've got Checo in the RB #2 and he's either going to podium or top-10, and it's a dice roll on which one shows up.

Mercedes won the championships, but you went into races, and seasons, not being certain if Mercedes, Ferrari or Red Bull would win.  Until Ferrari got caught cheating, that is.  It was competitive.  This is not competitive.  So you need to be real interested in mid field battles(thank you Kevin Magnussen for helping there), or a kid like Bearman needs to be in the field to keep things interesting.  BUt it's basically to the point  where the question is Does Max crash?  No? Then he wins.
