Not sure if anyone else has seen this, I find it hilarious. As if you are going to get in Max's head with that trash. 🤣

Lando on pole with Max next to him. I think Lando is going to run away with it. Max was .3 down and that's a short lap. Tomorrow should be good.

I'm so happy that the season is no longer a Red Bull runaway. I mean Max is still the odds on favorite to repeat, but a least it's competitive.

Next year will be legit with at least 4 teams fighting for wins from the first race. The cost cap has made a HUGE difference for McLaren.

Every point counts and the fact that he beat Hamilton's time one old a** tires shows just how much pace he still has in his pocket.

The move I thought would happen over the break happens today... Sargeant out at Williams. Maybe could have saved his seat until the end of the year if he didn't completely destroy his car during FP3

That crash wasn't cheap. I haven't been following F2 so I have no idea who this kid is, but he has 10 races before Carlos takes that seat.

It was said that prior to the Hungary GP, McLaren didn't think Lando had a realistic chance to win the drivers championship, and that whoever was in the lead at the start of the race would get the priority strategy.  I imagine that was discussed in the pre-race briefing with both drivers.

As such, when Norris ended up getting the preferred pit stop strategy, the call to Norris to correct the order was “Lando, there are five laps to go. The way to win a championship is not by yourself — it’s with the team. You’re going to need Oscar, and you’re going to need the team.”  At what point does the McLaren and Piastri fulfill that promise to Norris by having pre-race meetings that McLaren will swap positions of the cars if possible?

With 9 races to go and a 70 point gap to Max, McLaren seems to have the far superior car and Max seems even more vulnerable to not just both McLarens, but also the Mercs.  What once seemed like a situation where Lando had to win out because Max would not finish lower than 2nd or 3rd now presents opportunity where Lando can still make up ground finishing 2nd with Max legitimately finishing 4th or 5th.

This is very doable for Norris...but it's less likely if Piastri finishes ahead of Norris in any race the rest of the season unless Max has a couple of DNFs.

Oh man, tomorrow is gonna be heated. Russell splitting the McLaren and Ferrari grid was awesome. Max has work to do. If Lando can pull off the win and Max is outside the top 5, the drivers championship gets even better.

I think Oscar proved last weekend he has no intention in helping Lando win a title of he can still win it himself. Carlos knows what's up.

Apparently, that time is now and Piastri is on board

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/piastri-agrees-to-back-norris-as-mclaren-makes-f1-team-orders-call/10653335/

Most recent odds show Max is now a -200 betting favorite for the drivers championship and Lando is now +140.  Amazing how on 4/22, Max was a -4600 favorite and Lando was a +8600 underdog.

Glad I'm not able to easily gamble, because I would have taken Max at -400 to win the drivers title before the season started...LOL.

I don't think Oscar is as on board as they like to say and they are saying it's for 1 race and they will reevaluate the situation.

If Oscar finishes ahead of Lando, goodbye support. 🤣

Lando has to our score Max by 8 points each of the remaining races, I don't think he can.

I do believe Max is still the favorite at this point.  However the RB is sliding backwards not to just McLaren, but also to Ferrari and Mercedes.  Monza was not that far away from a 18 point difference between Lando and Max if Leclerc 2 stops and McLaren implemented team orders (or Lando doesn't botch lap 1).

I so while I agree that beating Max by 8 points every race for the next 8 races will be difficult, the opportunity does present itself to beat Max by 14-18 points here or there.  I believe I posted something a few months back that there was no way Max could lose the drivers simply because his worst finish outside of a mechanical failure would be 2nd or 3rd because the Mercs and Ferrari's were just not competitive enough.  That's not true anymore.

The rest of the season will be great viewing...reminds me of 2021.

RB is sliding, but I don't think they will go winless in the last few races. Next year will be heated from the start, then we get to reset everything in '26 to new standards with Audi onboard.

Agree if Max can win one of the last eight, he's safe.  Not just because it increases his margin over Norris, but means that the car itself is quick enough to compete in the other 7 races.

I just don't think the RB is quick anymore.  I think how Perez drives the RB is a better representation of how quick the RB actually is.  Max makes the RB look decent because he's that good of a driver.  I do think he's in the 3rd to 4th fastest car right now depending on the track.

Oh damn, Lando in 17th and Oscar in 2nd makes team orders moot. 🤣
