I blame Morgan for me not being the greatest golfer in the game's history.

 

If I was 25 years or so younger, we might have got together and if that fantasy had happened I would have spent almost all my time practicing, playing, travelling to events whilst our interaction would be text messages and well, you can guess.

 

Could have made so many winning speeches thanking her and been totally genuine about it.

I think Morgan is very well presented, intelligent and with appropriate experience for the role....but...her voice and so much talk, I can't abide.

Didn't anyone notice Brittany Lincicome joining the crew toward the end of the coverage?  She was great, super attractive, and with a voice that is pleasant to listen to & certainly knowledgeable.  I'd vote for her to replace Morgan any day.

Pressel was on the fence at first if Noh got a bad break on 12. I mean, as she said, the ball hit five feet up on the pin and could have just as easily gone in. I’m paraphrasing. She just don’t make a whole lot of sense when she speaks with that voice of hers. I do feel bad for her because this isn’t going to work out. She isn’t wired for this job. She’s high strung, high pitched, gets confused on-air, and looks like a pilgrim. This isn’t really what we’re going for in 2025

Regardless of where one stands on Morgan, the fact is that there are a lot of people that don’t like her at all and, myself included, who don’t watch the LPGA because of her.  Absent her voice, I would watch the LPGA broadcasts regularly.  But I don’t.  And I don’t think I’m alone in that.  Which begs the question, why on earth would NBC continue to use a broadcaster that is so off putting to a material segment of their viewing audience?  It makes no sense to me.

They had the full broadcasts available on Peacock but they're down now so no idea where any of it can be watched atm.

I don’t mean to be honest here, but probably for the same reasons we get two hours of Saturday and Sunday coverage on regular GC and (never a network unless it’s those two tournaments a year) we get to see about five golfers hit shots during that time.. mostly watching their entire sequence of two putting 10/18 greens; or for the same reasons the crowd is sad to look at on tv at what’s supposed to big time season tourneys, like the season ending Tour Championship—always feels like a May/2020 event.

The LPGA only attracts a very small niche market.

The LPGA is 75 years old. If it can't obtain a really big audience in 75 years, I don't expect the viewing audience to suddenly explode/grow anytime soon.

Attendance many times is not great, as witnessed on TV.

Nelly won 7 times in 2024 and I don't think viewership really took off vs previous years.

 

I think the coverage is good considering how few fans are interested in the product.

I think if "fans" won't watch because of a commentator they aren't really fans and are looking for reasons to justify not watching.

I watch the LPGA regularly.  I really don't like to listen to Morgan Pressel.  Paige Mackenzie would be a welcome upgrade.

I would have said that seriously up until last weekend during the WM.  Between the end of last season and the start of this one, she’s done something to change her delivery and countenance on camera.  I hope it wasn’t a blip, but rather is a trend, because, like her or not, I think we’re gonna continue to see more and more of her over time.
