Who's your favorite YouTube golf instructor?

My favorite is Rick Shiels. He knows his stuff, he's very upbeat, and he's very entertaining. He also has a cool British accent, what with the poo-tah and the boon-kah! I also like Kirk Junge since I'm trying to learn the Setup For Impact single plane swing.

I found Smash Factor to be very helpful. Also Eric Cogorno has several videos which have been useful to better understand the swing and some of my tendencies.

I'll second Crossfield.  I know it's not always "instructional" but I find his videos entertaining.  Joining he and Coach Lockey together on a course just seems like it would be an interesting/fun time!

this question got me thinking: are any of these "famous" YouTube golf instructors actually teaching daily similar to the way golf pro's did before all this online activity began several years ago? I know Gankas does teach off-camera, most of his video's seem to be actual lessons. The lessons and dialogue between him and the student is interesting on its own, instruction not so applicable to a lot of people I'd imagine but in theory probably right. 

 

My guess is that the YouTube instructors we've listed so far started out teaching all off camera but realized they can make a name for themselves (and more $$ of course) by spending a lot of time instructing to just the camera rather than a student.

 

I used to watch a lot of these partly because they're catchy and I was hitting it bad and couldn't find a good instructor. They seemed like a decent way to help me deal with some perceived issues. You REALLY have to know your swing and what to apply from them though, otherwise all kinds of things can go awry.

 

At the end of the day though, after reading Hogan's 5 Fundamentals, I've had trouble finding any drill from any YouTube instructor that didn't originate in that book. Something to be said for sticking with the classics I guess. (I finally found an instructor that's worth sticking with and made a promise on day 1 no more YouTube!)
