In the last 10 years I have twice hit into someone unintentionally. Both times I was riding as the passenger and both times I asked the cart driver to drive up and check if it was clear and both times they said, ah, it’s clear.  I hate when someone is too lazy to ride up and check if it’s clear. I apologized and was embarrassed and pissed at what I had done and at my partner.

Apologize after they placed my ball against the tee or at minimum pushed it against the ball? Won't get it from me. I've apologized plenty of times on courses I'm unfamiliar with but I've also never had that move pulled on me.

LOL.. Were the players in front older players? That's old school but they got it wrong. When someone drives into you you set their ball up on a tee not stick a tee beside the ball. It's a nice way to let you know that you hit into them and that you should pay attention with when it is safe to hit. It's a polite message to let you know. It requires no confrontation but it would have been nice if you rode up and apologized.

I've done the same thing over my yrs of playing. If you don;t get the message and do it again you might need to look for your ball in the closest weeds. If we really have a problem you can come and get your ball from my pocket. I'll gladly return it.

I think you are over reacting with the tee. It's the nicest form of "you are hitting to close to us"

I agree with you they should have let you know they were still there but you can't count on people to do the right thing. You can only count on yourself in doing the right thing. You should have made sure the coast was clear to tee off.

W o W.

I love golf and all, but this is a first-world-problem.

Grow up and move on.  This shouldn't even be a 'problem'.

This shouldn't even be a topic.

                          And yet I responded................

I'd take that bet. :classic_laugh:

Anywho, since I couldn't understand just about anything from you first post I just scanned through YOUR others (no one else's).

Am I to understand that you're upset because the group in front of you, who you hit in to, placed a tee LEANING onto your ball ? As opposed to putting the tee NEXT TO your ball ?

I guess I just don't understand - why would that upset you ? :classic_blink:

Looks like this is has mostly been covered...

We have a lot of doglegs and blind spots on our course. As another poster mentioned, a private club you'd think all of the members would kind of get a feel for this. Typically at our club we either wait a bit longer than normal, or someone in a cart drives up to be sure --An annoyance yes but better than clocking someone i guess

The first response was really still the best. They made you aware of your error in a non threatening , non confrontational way. It shouldn't have upset you that much

Not that slow but 250 yards out, driving stake to stake, and no turn-around back at the box is awkward to navigate. Group behind will almost certainly drive past my box when they arrive. Sounds like I'm "that guy" no matter what I do here.

Have you ever considered NOT hitting driver off the tee? It's not like it's the Open or some tour event. Hit something short of the group ahead if they are potentially in play in a blind spot. This way you keep moving and don't have to wait around all day. I doubt that hitting 3W off that one tee will ruin your round, but hitting into them definitely seems to have.

WTF?  🤨

What planet am I on?  Why is this crime of the century?  You're lucky they didn't drive back in their direction and you're upset a tee might have moved your ball a millimeter?

Seek counseling.

Apparently you have never seen OP's gargantuan power off the tee. If you had you wouldn't dare make such a silly comment.

Again you haven't explained why they would need to apologize for placing a tee against your ball or even pushed it against your ball?  Everyone here is trying to understand why you found that so annoying and offensive?  So please try to explain it to us.  Once we understand that then perhaps there can be a more sympathetic understanding of your plight.

I dunno what's better, the fact that everybody is telling this guy he is wrong but he's not willing to accept that...or him going to tattle to the pro at the club like a 5 year old.  I'm almost thinking this can't be real, this guy has to be trolling all of us.

you hit a good drive, now continue on with the game and be more careful next time

I hope you're kidding.  Do you not understand that the sanctity of his round was disrupted by these clowns putting a tee next to his ball, causing it to move from its rightful position?

Obviously I don't care to mention her name. My conversation was also not about what happened but how she could avoid it in the future. Giving the tee back clearly negated any productive conversation.

In addition to what others have said, it also sounds like the course needs to install a bell or light system to indicate the blind area is clear.

I've played courses that employ a bell for you to ring once you get far enough down the fairway. Works great as long as people remember to use it
