So i just got this unit and am trying to use FSX Pro on ipad for now. It read the first swing fine(on actual BLP and iPad) but wouldn't read any more swings(not on BLP or iPad). Talked to customer service and they thought it was my mat moving hence BLP could read it. This unit worked great outdoors at the range. I have a 3 x 5 foot indoor mat that I am using where its 3 feet anterior to posterior.

Anyone else have this issue with slight mat movement with iron strikes? Any good solutions?. Maybe I need to get a better 5 x 5 foot mat??

Mat moving is the major cause of misreads. I had this issue and went through several set ups to fix it, and several worked but my current mat works the best. (5’x9’)

Once the mat moves, the ball is no longer locked in with the unit. A nice heavy mat will work wonders

I apologize if this has been covered before but does anyone know how the calculations work for spin axis and path?

I'm seeing VERY weird results when purposely trying to hit it left or right.

For example:

Say I want to start the ball on the left edge of the green. Instead of using the mouse to aim there, I just purposely hit the ball left of the center target on the screen. The problem is that when I do this the spin axis and path numbers make zero sense. The spin axis jumps a ton into the 20-30 degree range and the path numbers do not match the shot shape at all. I've tested this with little 50 yard pitch shots and am seeing the same elevated spin axis numbers.

It makes me think the GC3 is calculating everything in relation to the target and not what the ball is actually doing.

Anyone have any insight? Thank you!

I'm curious as to whether or not my course's range balls are difficult for the BLP to 'see'.  They are yellow titleist tour practice and i've read that yellow balls are not great for these units.  I get some that seem very accurate, others that are a little off in carry and/or ball speed then some that simply are way off.  I seem to get less misreads when I put the ball closer to the unit (inside the area) but not 100% certain on that yet.  The longer the shot the larger the variance in accuracy.  For instance I have had ball speed 158, 12 launch, 2300 spin, 150 ss and 285 carry THEN bs 161, 13 launch, 2100 spin, 90 side spin, and only 255 carry.  Both shots cleared a 25 foot net with a driver at 260 yards.  On irons sometimes the ball speed is really low and the carry is about 5% short.  The spin numbers are about 1k low but i attribute that to mats.  If the ball speed on 5 iron that flies a 205y flag is 117 and the carry is 188 that seems ridiculously off for this unit.  the barometer is accurate too, checked it multiple times.  Is it just the range ball?

I used yellow range balls on Friday. The unit had a hard time locking in. That is the biggest issue with yellow balls.

The accuracy is more down to the fact that they’re range balls. balls that aren’t designed like even the cheapest of regular ballls, let alone tour balls. They often sit out in the weather and have been hit thousands of times. The variance between range balls in your bucket will add to that issue. Some may be newer, some may be older. None of them spin as a regular ball would.

I only use them for club and ball speed to see where I’m at warming up. That’s really the only purpose of a range ball. You should never use them for actual practice.

You're using a toothbrush to clean the lenses?

That sounds like a REALLY bad idea

No. Just clean the IR sensors around it.

Anyone experience a C13 error? Have had the unit for 9 months with no issue and recently had a C13 error pop up mid-round. Took a look on Google and only noticed one reference to C13 specifically but the broad "C" code states it's related to an image sensor. Did a quick reboot and after a few minutes was able to reconnect and finish the round without issue. Gave the sensors and cameras a quick clean and hoping it doesn't happen again, but thought I'd see if anyone has seen this specific one as I would hate to send it for repair.

IIRC C13 means one or more of the lenses are dirty.

Total unlock available now:

I just received an email for a discount on unlocking the Launch Pro, for $750 off.

$2750.

If you bought early you can say goodbye to subscriptions.

Did the email have a link? I did not see that email come in on my end and would be interested in unlocking.

If you log into your FSXLive account, it shows up in the "Manage Your Subscription" section. It looks like they brought the "Unlock" option back permanently.

So I got my BLP in November of 22 and it worked perfectly up until about a month ago. I was fairly good about not keeping it plugged in the entire time and occasionally let the battery drain to keep the battery calibrated. Well the device was working fine up until I went to install the latest firmware update. It failed during the update and then kept giving me the error A1 (this has to do with software not loading properly). I couldn’t get the device to load and at a certain point it just would show me a blue light as it was turning on and then would turn back off after about 15-20 seconds. Had to initiate a service and send it to Foresight. They received it a few days ago and told me that it needed a new battery, new optics, and a new main controller board to the tune of $1400!

I called down there today and Kevin told me that the battery was the main cost associated with it and that was the cause of the error because I wasn’t keeping it calibrated. 🙄 I mentioned the issues started after the attempted firmware update and he said that wasn’t possible. 🙄🙄

I asked if there was any wiggle room on their pricing and was told there wasn’t. Said I could either pay it or talk to a salesman on trading it in to buy a new device. If I had them service it I would only get a 90 day warranty. No way to pay for an extended warranty either.🙄🙄🙄

I forgot to mention the A1 error when talking to them as I feel like the timing is very suspicious. Anyone have an experience like this or has any tips to give me on getting this repaired? I don’t really want to pay half the cost of a new device to get it fixed.

They never said.

It was within the Warrenty  so there was no charge.

I just  did a second battery recalibration-no issues and warning that it was low is gone again.

Just updated my GC3 to 2.2.0.13, any specifics on the updates? I've tried foresight but haven't seen anything on there.

sounds like a big one ...

Changes:
GC3 & Launch Pro Firmware v2.2.0.13
  • Revamped accelerometer. The PLM was displaying averaged, uncorrected values. The fix displays the fully smoothed/averaged, compensated and offset values
  • Resolved issue with error codes
  • GC3/LPs now send a handedness change event to the host App when the handedness changes by a button press
  • Battery consumption was reporting 1/2 the actual consumption rate. This has been resolved to show the actual consumption rate.
  • Resolved issue with manual firmware update

Could you share your repair invoice and approximate date you purchased your device?  Handful of i/o board, batteries, led board repairs springing up lately.  Wondering about the disparity of the repair costs between customers.

Sorry for the delay on responding. The parts replaced (or at least quoted to be replaced) was Main Block Pre-Focus Assembly, LED Board, and Battery. The quote was on 8/15/24

Labor for Repairs: $204

Service/Parts: $847

Shipping: $95

I got them to give me a whopping 15% discount because the issue clearly stemmed from the software update as the error code that originally showed was related to loading the software. I wanted to just tell them to shove it since I didn't believe the battery was defective but how could I prove otherwise? I felt like I was at a car dealership who was just drumming up business making a list of things that "needed to be replaced". I've paid too much for courses and the LM itself to just abandon they system.
