Wedge shaft? Which one?

Hello,

 

I just purchased 2 new wedges and had them built with KBS $ Taper stiff. The shaft feels a bit boardy for a wedge shaft. I am looking for a shaft around 100g . What do you suggest?

I know shafts are different, and we don't have similar swings. I am just looking for suggestions specifically for wedge shafts. I hit 52 deg gap wedge 115 yards if that helps.

DGS300 or DGS400.

Try one of the KBS wedge shafts.

could always play kbs tour 120 in wedge

S400 is my vote. I like weight in my wedges.

I play the same shaft in my 50* PING Glide as in my other irons...  in my Eye2 XG SW I use a S400 SS x2...  I can't remember when the last time I hit a full swing shot with either.

Old guy here, only hit my 54* and 58* for bunkers and partial shots.

Ok, I hit a few full 54* ( 90yrds).

I like KBS HiRev 2.0

DG wedge/s200 are good for me as well. Only hit the DG Spinner at a demo years ago, but remember no liking it much.

I tried a Steel Fiber 110cw (r) and didn't care for it, and I play i95's in my irons.

IF you like the DG profile they make a 105 wedge shaft I gamed for a year or so. I went all graphite so have experimented with matching my set profile (Accra) and tossed a SF 110cw in my 60 for a bit more weight. 

 

Its very personal for some, I don't feel a lot of nuance just more of a I like it or I don't like it. 🙂

My favourite wedge shaft I have ever played is S400, combination of weight and flex just seems to work for me. I play them in 52, 56 and 60 with no issues. 

 

I changed away from them to kbs hi rev in some hi toe wedges and my wedge game fell away dramatically. Returned to s400 again this year and my wedges have been the best part of my game. 

 

Obviously your findings me differ but for me they are the best wedge shafts ever.

Same for me.   Landed on S400 for all wedges.   Love them on full shots as well as extra weight has really helped my chipping

I have Pro Modus 3 Tour 105 Tour stiff, soft stepped once and they are perfect for me.  Best wedge shafts I've ever played.  KBS Tour 90 stiff before, and those were fine (for context) but these are finerer.

This is what I personally use albeit I've "Tiger-stepped" them and you may have difficulty in obtaining them at the moment. My second choice is the Fujikura MCI wedge shaft and I wouldn't have a second thought about gaming it as my testing with it was very positive.

And, what are wedge heads and lofts?
