The fact the they do host the Beoing every year usually guarantees the course is is great shape, especially leading up to it. I haven't played all the privates in the Seattle area but SR's greens are some of the best I've played.

So I played SR today - course was in good shape, greens really pure, a few minorly soggy places in the fairway but not too bad. What struck me the most is that it really was a tough walk ( I had a push cart). 15-18 and the front had a bunch as well where it was a big trek between holes. And I like to think that I'm in good shape... I think I was the only walker I saw the whole day.

I thought some of the holes were interesting and were fair with good bailouts and risk / rewards. The houses did bug me a little bit for some reason, but not the end of the world.

Also, I did get the sense that the weekends in the summer were tough to book unless you were really on it 10 days in advance, but more for the morning times than anything else.

Finally, getting there is really really easy. I appreciate that a lot - no traffic backups when all you take is I-90!

Anyway, now I just have to decide 🙂

Yeah - it definitely tests you to walk it. The walk from 1 green to 2 tee and 4 green to 5 tee are the longest green to tee on the course. 15 green is the low point on the entire course, so that stretch from 16 back to the clubhouse is certainly a hike. Come winter there are a lot of people walking with cart path only, but once carts are allowed on the fairway you see most people taking carts. The stretch from 12-17 when you're out of the houses is as good as most any in the state imo, but agree the houses detract a bit on the front. The views from 13 and 14 tee are special. It's not too bad in the summer if you're just trying to get out by yourself or as a twosome - there tend to be a fair amount of cancellations as the week goes on. But trying to snag an early morning 4some - that certainly is tricky.

Hey guys new to this platform. Is anyone in this thread a member at Aldarra Golf Club? I work at a new Tom Doak private course, I’ll be traveling to Seattle in late March and was looking to trade favors to get on the Fazio designed course. I appreciate any help or consideration in advance.

I just played Canterwood CC for the first time as part of the WA Winter Golf Series and man, this may just be a matter of personal preference, but that may be the private golf course I've played that I like the least. It was in soft winter conditions and the course played absolutely brutally. We played as a 2 man scramble and had 3 3 putts (we're both single digit handicaps, not great by any means, but I maybe 3 putt 1x a round solo). There were fairways I don't know how you're supposed to hold (18 if you cut the corner?). Forced layups off the tee on par 5's (a personal pet peeve). Putts inside 4' that would break 3 cups, etc. Not sure if come summer they put the pins in flatter parts of the green, but one of the few times I can remember thinking "get me off this course" come hole ~14. It looks like it's probably in fantastic condition in the summer, has a really nice clubhouse / good food, and part of a nice community. Houses on the course but never intrusive. If you're a member there and this offends you - apologies, but not my cup of tea, especially with the wealth of good public golf in that area.
