Masters Ticket Scalpers

Ordered Pit tickets (very front) to a Dave Matthews show a few years ago from Seatgeek.  They arrived and were actually Lawn tickets (very back).  Got my money back eventually, but no tickets, as no one else was selling Pit tickets on Seatgeek. 

 

Same thing has happened multiple times on Stubhub (I've used them 100x more than the 1 time with Seatgeek); purchased one thing but got something worse, or didn't get the tickets at all.

I think I posted a month or so ago, all it would take was one grainy picture of Tiger walking the course to send these prices sky high.

Someone please remind me concession/food locations in the amen corner area?  I am thinking it is between the back of the stands on 15 and 14 tee box?  Need to coordinate a meeting spot for group arriving separately.

This is a great thread.  Just found golfwrx a couple of weeks ago.  I’ve missed out!!
 

Anyway, going to Monday practice round.  Do the gates open at 7:00am?
 

Just trying to verify my plan.  I went to the Monday practice round in 2019.  Saw Tiger on the practice putting green.  He teed of #10 instead of #1.  It was the first group off…Tiger, Fred Couples, and Justin Thomas.  Got to see him close-up for almost the entire back nine at Augusta!!  It was a real

 treat.  Told my friends that night that I wouldn’t be surprised if he won it by the way he played that day.

Bought a music festival ticket at lunchtime from Stubhub, just got this:

Will use that for a big discount on Masters tickets in the coming days

What’s to keep sellers who haven’t shipped tickets yet from doing this since tiger may now play ? They could hold back and go themselves or hold back and sell for double.  Right ?

Yep, that's why I posted this.  Now what should happen is Stubhub should charge the bad seller's credit card on file for the next cheapest pair, and have that new seller ship the tickets to the buyer.  But in my case last night Stubhub didn't do that, as the ticket I purchased was significantly cheaper than then next cheapest ticket; my argument was "that's not my problem, that should be your bad seller's problem".  But I didn't get a replacement ticket, just a credit.

Yep. I’m with you.  I don’t have a dog in the fight , but it’s a curious deal.    Suppose you’re from out of town. You make bucket list plans , airfare hotel etc. then tiger says he’s playing , dreams coming true - poof.  Seller backs out , and you’re screwed.  Stub hub should have to  replace the tickets.  Price is irrelevant.

That will definitely happen.   There's a lot of badge owners out there who are greaseballs.    Im assuming even more this year due to the fact they couldnt sell badges the past few years.   Trying to make up losses

They wont.  They'll give you the credit on your Stubhub account to use for future transactions.   Reason I know this is because I bought tix for the Big Ten tournament a few weeks back, the seller didnt deliver so they credited my account with the $$ amount to purchase different tickets.   It was the only option they gave me

Getting your money back on your cc/paypal wasn't an option?  Should have been, unless you paid with a Stubhub credit

Anyone know if I can walk in with multiple masters camp chairs?  Was planning to place them for some friends that can’t arrive until later in the day.  Website says “One chair/seat will be allowed per person.”

I get your point, but nothing prevents me from buying 4 chairs once in the gate and placing them.  Question is if you can enter the gates with more than one per person.  The website is not that specific.

I would say to not get caught doing that , you probably need to buy them to be less conspicuous …. That or lie when asked “ hey I have some elderly parents meeting me here “ . 
 

but you never know. You may get the one guy who won’t ask.

I know a few guys that go early in the morning, buy a few chairs and set them at multiple holes.    Can get through the gate with 1, but theres nothing stopping from buying more at the merch building

My buddy was there carrying two chairs walking alone and he was approached right away and told he could not place a chair for another person and then they did a check on his pass. He won it in the lottery and knew all the details about it, but he said he was glad it was not one he bought from unknown sources.

Are you going to practice round or tournament proper?  Because a practice round, you just likely get yourself made ineligible for future lottery wins.

 

If you are going to a tournament round, you want to be real careful.  If those badges are not in your name, you could be costing someone else their badges.  Those must be some really good friends if you're willing to risk what could come from costing someone their badges.

Practice rounds.  Decided not to pursue placing more than one.  I am also going to ask someone upon entering for the DCP on Sunday just to be sure.
