A lot of people buy the merch to resell at 2-3x to pay for their tickets. Not what I would do, but, I do kinda get it with how absurd secondary market prices are getting these days.

I will say that not letting people in until 8 and blowing the horn at 1130 makes it hard to argue for not getting people back next year - assuming they don't reopen. You open at 7 - but really it was 630ish - and they are on until noon, that's a good half day. 8-1130, not so much.

No idea why they waited to open until 8 when 2 years ago they were open at 630 or so. They knew this was coming so that was odd. 

 

Couldn't have asked for a better day though. Although oddly not many players out, certainly enough time and the weather was just fine.

 

But no I could not tell any huge difference at 16.

Listen man I honest to God don't know what your obsession is with getting people to talk about how bad or different 16 looks, I really don't. I was there, it looks great. I'm not interested in whatever this is though.

Idk why you're so upset over a talking point. Maybe because this is a big part of the story this year and talking about it is intriguing. I love talking about course changes year over year. Not trying to make anyone mad it's just an interesting storyline for the year. Maybe just don't read thread posts about the masters if you don't like talking about the masters.

Tree density is definitely noticeably less this year but overall they did a wonderful job with the recovery. Actually think the thinned out tree lines may promote more natural light on the course which could be nice.

They should, it’s what happened in 2020 but Sellers had already been paid out.  It’s why Stubhub stopped paying Sellers prior to the event being held.  But if you go on the Stubhub Reddit they seems to be even sketchier than ever.  I bet they refund buyers.

Hello Guys, thinking about buying tickets for tomorrow because of the unhappy day today. 
 

Is there any chance to get no valid tickets or topics with police?
 

Checked out StubHub house and at the moment there are two police cars standing there and talking with the guy on the veranda.

Those police cars are there 24-7 hired by Stubhub to protect the $1,000,000 worth of tickets sitting in that house!

Concerning refunds, Stubhub "should" stand behind their Buyer Guarantee, as the event was cancelled and original Patrons are to be refunded.  And technically you could take 120% in Stubhub credit instead of 100% cash refund:

Another reason why I always recommend waiting; if weather in the forecast prices come down the day before, day of, and you might even get your money back!  Or, you make the decision not to go due to the weather, and you're out nothing.

3 years ago in 2022 the Tuesday practice round was cancelled due to weather around 10 or 10:30. The Masters allowed those lottery winners to buy 2023 Tuesdays practice rounds again. Did anybody buy Tuesday tickets from Stub Hub in 2022 and did Stub Hub give you any type of refund or credit? If so, this is basically the same as Monday's situation today.

It's really the best of all possible bad potential outcomes. Got to see the course for almost four hours in good weather - plus coming back next year.

 

I don't understand the people (not on here necessarily) who get super mad at the Masters for not reopening. It's a tough situation to manage with the property being so huge and lightning moving North and South of the course. They did their best, gave refunds AND tickets for next year, what did you want them to do?

 

But if you know there's bad weather coming and you still got there three hours after gates opened - or spent two hours shopping for merch - that's on you. 

 

We heard the SubAirs cranking away all day, course should look awesome for the week.

Right, this year is different because the lottery winners are getting a refund unlike in 2022, they did not get a refund. Refund is for the Masters lottery winners or Stub Hub notes its sellers need to contact the place they purchased tickets from for a refund. Refund to me does not come into play. Its the word cancelled/postponed that is referenced under Stub Hubs Buyer guarantee where the SH buyer can get a refund or credit if the event is cancelled. Glad you posted that note from 2022. I didn't know what the Masters sent in 2022 but the only word they really used to describe the situation is " suspended".  In this year's note on the Masters website the only verbiage they use is "due to the inclement weather we will not reopen to our patrons on Monday."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              With Stub hub using the word "Cancelled" in their Buyers Guarantee heading,   I'm not sure how this is going to be viewed. 1. They give a full refund to the buyers.  2. They consider the course being open for 3.5 hours as an event and no refund.  3. They give a partial refund. Also will say how huge it is getting a house near the course to stay in. It sounds expensive but if you split it with a couple or two, it's really no more than a hotel room that might be a ways away. Makes waiting out things like this so much easier.
