2022 Chromesofts? Anyone heard anything?

Has anyone heard anything on 2022 Chromesoft release? Everyone else is out with their protos on social media who are in this years cycle.

 

Saw some pics of the 2022 X LS that Schauffele was using but absolutely nothing on the regular and X balls for this year.

Sounds like each model has been redesigned without losing the essence of each model. Pure guess; I could see all 3 models having 1 big core and 2 mantle layer plus cover since this construction seems to yield the best blend of characteristics. I was told by Jason Finley in a PM, that if I liked the outgoing CSX, which I did, I’ll like the 2022 CSX.

The new Chrome Softs are up and are $81.25 CAD which is so insane I don't even know what to say.

Seeing price increase from $47.99 to $49.99 on US sites.  Not available to ship until 1/28.

I imagine that the price is a mistake on the Canadian site.  MGS has a review of the new balls posted today.

Either that or they are prioritizing US customers on preorders? Annoying if that is the case

I guess it's possible.  Doesn't look like the Callaway sites (US and Canada) are even allowing preorders for the new balls at this time. Looks like DSG/GG are but not PGTASS.  Are any Canadian retail sites (besides the Callaways site) showing the high price for the new balls and allowing preorders?

Golftown does not have the 2022 Chromesofts showing as of yet. They have a blog about the new Rogue ST stuff but no pre-order for those, while you can pre-order the TaylorMade stuff. So matching the OEM sites for now.

I guess you won't know for sure until they are available for preorder up there and/or the site is updated with different prices but I can't imagine that they really end up asking folks to pay higher than Pro V1 prices.

I am big fan of the CS X but there's no way anyone would be stupid enough to pay over $16 more a dozen than a Pro V1x, I'd easily make the switch over to that. I'm sure they will retail @ 64.99 here like the Pro V1s once they actually hit market.

Agreed. But when I was combing through the website this morning I was pretty shocked thats what they had literally all of the '22 models at.

I sent an e-mail to Callaway customer service asking.

 

Will advise their response if it's not fixed before I get one.

Interested in changes made by Callaway on their ball refresh, lowered the compression by ~5 on each model, removed a layer from the CS and were able to slightly increase ball speeds for a few extra yards. Don't think I will play the CS going forward but the changes they made to the durability on the XLS cover along with the others mentioned basically addressed every issue I had with it- will definitely be buying and testing those this season.

Also, they are now fully using 3D X-ray which brings the positioning/centering of the core and mantle to within 1/1000 of an inch.

This is definitely the biggest advancement. Not only the core but all layers to be as precise as possible. If someone has ever enjoyed a version of the Chromesoft but had issues in the past, this will be the year to try again!

I'm a big fan of the Chrome Soft X LS so looking forward to trying the new ones!

I really enjoyed the X and LS last year probably tops for all the balls I tried last year, definitely might grab a box of the 2022 models but really going to look out for the last gen on discount. 

 

I really do wish those 4 dozen boxes they sold came in the X or LS.

Yeah, not sure why they don't do that. Taylormade had the same idea for both of their TP5 models. Doesn't make sense not to have it for at least the X as well as normal.

They're not out yet.

I’m playing 2022 ChromeSoft (only one round so far) and even with my slower SS (95-96 with driver) I enjoyed it. Good check in to greens with scoring irons, flew straight with driver and auditory “click” off a milled putter was better than before. Only part I struggled with having previously played CSX was greenside chips didn’t really check as fast or as much as I was accustomed to seeing.

Only available here at the end of the week, so looking forward to getting the X and X LS on the Quad and seeing the numbers.

I'm guessing that they said the price would be $64.99 CAD but someone didn't see the CAD part and did a USD to CAD conversion...
