Koepkaaaaaaaaa....what happened there?  No tripod stance when lining up the putts like last year.  Time for excuses is over my man!  I think you need to take some lessons.   

IM came back to earth today but at -3 I am happy.  Rory made the cut and now he can relax and settle in and make a run at a top 20 or better.  I am not the only one who got docked on Koepka so all in all it could have been much worse.

I just wanted to praise the effort JT put fourth today after his horrible start on Thursday. Man got on his horse with 3 birdies on the front and three more on the back.  A  very nice turnaround with a -5 today.

What a tragedy...young kid with his life ahead of him.  Mike Tomlin said he was working really hard and he was liked by his teammates.  If any team could have helped him grow it was the Steelers.

I hate seeing things like this.

It is final round Sunday at the Masters and I am wishing all of my buddies here on the thread a wonderful day. 

 

Yesterday here in the AVL we received an inch of snow. Yes snow in April it was for the western part of North Carolina and that kept all the golfers away. The white stuff did completely melt before sunset thankfully. Blue skies have returned to the mountains this morning and our tee sheet is full. Here are few photos from 7:30 AM this morning. I will have a busy day at work, but will be able to catch some of the early Masters action in the Men's grill from time to time. When the final groups make the turn I will be home relaxing watching the back 9 action to see who ends up donning the green jacket. Maybe a few of you are starting off this special Sunday by playing 18? If so please share a few words on how your round went (photos included a plus).

To those of you who do get out on the course don't forget to express gratitude for being able to participate in the greatest game there is regardless of your performance, and then give thanks that your afternoon is filled with watching the greatest professional major golf tournament in existence.

Probably a few of you thought earlier this week that the guy in first place would suffer a fairly sizable setback after Thursday's scores. It looked like I was headed for two missed cuts during a double points major week. That never materialized because JT got it in gear and in the end finished top 10. 

 

So for the Masters I had.

Cam Smith T3         +10

JT   T8                      +6

 

Total for the week  +10 points.

 

Cam and JT earned me enough this week that I surpassed 100 points for the season.

Well...I had a nice Masters betting session.  I took a random flyer on 4 guys to lead round 1 because of such value - one of those being Sungjae >> 85-1 for $50;  I had already put Scottie after winning the match play at 17-1 for $50.   I had Lowry and Sungjae to make top 10.  I also made one silly 3 player parlay and hit that. Ended up 5k+ net profit!!

Masters 2022 Recap:

 

I set my alarm for 3:30AM Wednesday morning to begin my journey to ANGC. I left my house and picked up my friends dad, Wayne.  We then made the 20 minute drive to his sons house Alan.  After a quick wake n bake sesh, we began the trek to Augusta. It was a very gloomy and rainy 3hr drive from Gainesville, GA to Augusta National Golf Club.  Alan's wife, Denille, drove us down in her Cadillac SUV.  We finally arrived around and parked at 8:30.  Wayne, who is 74yrs old doesn't get around to well.  We finally made our way in and made our way out onto the golf course.  We walked across 1 fairway over to 2 fairway to watch approach shots into #2 green.  We saw English, Varner, Morikawa, DJ, Viktor and a few others.  We then headed over to Amen corner. We watched a few holes on our walk over.  We almost got to amen corner when the sirens went off and we were asked to leave the grounds.  Completely gutted. We have been waiting since 2020 when Alan won the lottery to attend. Now keep in mind, it took us FOREVER to make it to where we were due to Wayne not getting around very well.  We couldn't walk more than 50-100yrs before he needed to stop and take a rest.  So here we are, all the way near the South Gate and we have to walk all the way back to the North gate.  1.5hrs later we arrived back at the North Gate where we decided to have another rest break for Wayne.  As we were getting up to walk to the car to head back home, Security stopped us and said "Hang tight for one second." We waited a few minutes and the gentleman came back over and said they are letting people back in, you're free to enter back onto he golf course.  Poor Wayne, here we were so close to the car and they are letting us back in.  You could tell he was ready to go, he was wore out.  Alan and Wayne had a father/son talk and back in we went.  We got Wayne set up a a nice spot at the practice facility where we could sit and watch them all on the range and practice green.  Finally, the 3 of use were free to walk at our leisure. Me being a patron back in 2017, I knew my way around the course very well.  We stopped at concession and each double fisted "crows  nest" IPA beer and headed to Amen Corner. We stopped at 16 for a few pics as well as 6 green and watched Rors do some putting.  Man he putts like me.  We watched him miss 4  straight putts inside 6'.  For a small Nor Irelander, his arms are jacked!!!  We walked over to #5 green which happens to be my favorite hole on the golf course. "Magnolia" is the name of this giant par 4.  Your tee shot is straight uphill.  Huge deep bunkers on the left.  If you hit those bunkers, you've just made bogey or worse.  The green looks like a family of elephants were buried under the green.  Great hole!  We watch Hideki hit some approach shots onto 15 green.  Unfortunately, after the 1st weather delay, the course was rather empty.  Very few golfers on course after 1:00.  We walked 13, waited at 12 for awhile to see some tee shots but no one on the back 9 really.  We walked 11, what a daunting approach shot. Then walk up 10, holy undulations Batman!! We then walked over to the Par 3.  That place was packed, you couldn't get anywhere close to a hole.  We watched  Xander and Ryan Palmer putt for a few at the putting green then walked back to concession to double fist some more "Crows Nest" beers, they were dang good!!!  We started to walk some more when the second siren of the day sounded.  We were asked to leave the grounds.  Of course, we had to grab some crows nest, egg salad and pimento cheese sammy's before we headed back to the practice facility to pick up Wayne. We met Wayne and headed back to the car.  on our way back, the rains started coming down pretty hard.  We didn't get any rain up until the walk back to the car.  All in all it was a great time.  I wish the weather was nicer and we had more time to see some golfers.  Here's to hoping I win the lottery! 🤞

I'll keep this short and sweet. As returning champions, who shot -7 under last year absolutely SUCKED this year.  My goodness.  Pops and I struggled all day.  We ended up shooting a -1 69.  There were only 3 skins total on the day.  Each skin paid $160.  We had a great time.  Cant wait to get em next year!
