Wing Point G&CC - Bainbridge Island (Near Seattle)

Has anyone played Wing Point G&CC on Bainbridge Island near Seattle? I live in the area and am going to be playing in the Golfer's Journal event there in October. Would love to know a little more about the course from pictures it looks beautiful. Hoping I can meet a member to host me for a day before the event, beers on me!

West Seattle resident here. Not a member of WP, haven't played it but I am also planning on playing in the Golfer's Journal event in October and looking forward to it. I think one of my buddies has played it however, but I don't remember much of what he said lol.

Nice I can't wait to check it out. Played in their Chambers event last year and it was a blast.

I’m a member here…on paper, it doesn’t look very challenging as it’s not a long course. However, with tight tee shots, lots of trees, a few water features, OB a risk on half of the holes, strategically placed bunkers and grassy mounds…a premium is placed on accuracy and course management. And you’d better be at least a decent putter…
 

The greens are exceptional with many slight to moderate undulations. In the summer, they must roll at about 10.5-11 or greater…winter…nearly the same! In the wrong place on a few greens even an excellent putter runs the risk of a 3 putt. 

 

The par 3s are challenging…from the tips, they are about 175, 135, 240 and 205. The short par 4’s are major risk/reward holes. #6 at 350 has bunkers at the 230 or so mark from the tee….#7 at 316 is a very narrow tee shot with trees down both sides and OB down the entire left side and behind. 8 at 294 requires a carry over water of about 245 or layup less then 170. 14 at 317 uphill has OB down the entire right side that is a real risk on your tee shot if your ball moves left to right very much. 
 

A good friend of mine who is a 6.8 shot 87 on his first round with me…and over 4 rounds never broke 80.
