Rogue ST Max

Bought a  Rogue ST max today. I don’t think they were supposed to sell it yet. My gamer since it’s release is a G425 Max. Anyway,  when I tested at the usual stores here in Florida the Stealth and Rogue are virtually identical when set up with my Tensei Blue shaft. Played my home course WOW! Done looking for drivers for this year! Rogue is more forgiving and has the best feel of any driver I’ve tried in many years. Best drives, not  longer than my Pings best, just MORE best drives. Hit every fairway … Best driving day in years… Canceled my Stealth pre-order this morning…

Nope…from Authorized dealer and pulled it from the Callaway company box myself. No knock off. Just found staff that obviously does not understand embargo…

Yes, spent time on the range today with both and can and will play both. Night and day difference, no. Center strikes, same distances …Just my experience A/B’ing and my miss on the heel is hardly noticed on the Rogue, with G425 it drops my yardage significantly. I use the whole face (apparently) and my Ping has served me well but I feel the Rogue is on another level with higher average drives distance…

i love the matte finish. I currently game the Ping G400 Max and hoping the Rogue has better numbers, cant wait to try it in a few weeks

Received my Rogue on Tuesday --Rogue ST Max at 9 degrees is a square setup

Can someone weigh the head? I'm curious to see if they just increased the head weight a la Ping to increased stability and forgiveness.

Two more rounds in and absolutely cannot wait to go out and hit it again! Weather warmed up the last couple days and made it feel even better…I so wanted to use a red faced driver this year but this new Cally is firmly in the bag….

Couple of online reviews, from pros, say they feel the ST Max is more forgiving than the 425. Yes subjective but they were both very surprised by that.

 That’s what I’ve been seeing in the reviews: As forgiving and consistent as the Ping 425 but with a way better sound and feel.  That sold me on the Cally. No way that I could live with that tin can sound of the 425.

It is 100% as forgiving as the ping G425 max

I haven’t felt a driver that felt this good since the Titleist 983K many many moons ago.

I keep hearing that and I'm curious as well.  I have the ST Max coming this week and bought a Stealth to use in the meantime.  The stealth just wants to go straight anywhere off the face with only minimal distance loss.  When nutted I'm seeing nice gains but overall the drivers advantage is that it's point and shoot accurate with full face forgiveness.

In my launch Monitor trials, I hit the Stealth longer and more left. The Rogue was straighter and as it’s played out on the course this week, longer averages and fewer lost balls, but I was intending on a Stealth purchase. When the Rogue dropped into my lap last week I could not resist. Four rounds in and it is still great. I do have Red Face envy though. I played the Callaway C4 when it came out and loved it back then. I was heckled mercilessly by my buddies and I was looking forward to gaming the Stealth Carbon face. Will most likely buy one anyway 🙃.

With and without the adapter. I could have posted the OP’s complete review and since I’ve had the Rogue I’ve sold both of my G425’s. I’m a huge Ping fanboy but until they address the sound of their drivers I’ll never play one again. I play some very early morning rounds and I’m sure I woke people up with the G425

I play a mixed bag of brands, but have had really good success with Callaway drivers.  I wanted so badly to love some of the later generation Ping drivers for their accuracy, but for my swing, they were just not up to par distance-wise with the Callaway's.  I also have great dispersion with my Callaway Epic and the set-up is perfect.  However, I admit to being intrigued by the Rogue, with the same Tensei White shaft.

To confirm - Rogue ST Max 192.4g

 

Ping G425 - 196.2g
