Is it possible to order a weight kit from Callaway in the “wing style” tungsten weights? Currently in the 425 MAX and I replaced the sliding weight with a heavier one, and it really helped me …

Love reading these reviews. I too had an amazing fitting over the weekend with the Max LS. Dead center strikes were smashed, and my misses we super controlled. Spin rates were crazy low on the misses, and still carried very well.

 

Cant wait to get mine in the bag! They told me 2 weeks on the order time.

Pretty intrigued by all the positive reviews, especially on mishits.  Was getting ready to order an Epic but maybe I'll hold off for now.

I would for sure try to hit a demo day before you pull the trigger on the Epic...or really any other driver. I was coming out of the old Epic GBB (5ish years old), so it was game changer for me.

Epic GBB is one of the best drivers from Callaway, IMHO. I really regret selling a mint head to get the Epic Flash SZ. Dumbass idea.

 

The GBB sounded SO MUCH better, was hot and had adjustability. While I have the Epic Max LS, me & it are not getting along at all so I am playing the SIm 2 instead. However, the Rogue ST looks mighty good sound wise and by the looks of things, mishist wise as well.

 

Only quam is the face angle. I hook my Epic Max LS too much so I am contemplating a higher loft and tuning it down to control the left side miss. The Rogue ST lines seem to keep the square face like the Epic Max LS

I've really enjoyed my GBB. But I felt like it was time to update to the current tech.

 

I was hitting the 9* .. but the fitter tuned it up to 11* with the shaft adjustments. Made a huge improvement during the fitting.

I am currently playing the Cobra Speedzone Pars & Stripes edition that came with the Velocore shaft and decided to try the new Stealth driver. Ended up liking the fixed weight version with the ascent shaft and was consistently hitting it 290 with roll but it wasn’t enough to make me get rid of my Cobra. I didn’t like the Callaway offering as I hated the Mavrik colors and the ST seems to have followed but hey if it works for you then by all means, enjoy it!

I did like the Stealth’s looks and it was straighter than my Cobra but I will wait and get one later when people get tired of them or wait 6 months for the Stealth 2.. ha.

I just wish they had used another name besides Rogue… I wasn’t that impressed with the first one so kind of biased… even though it’s just a name.

Another factor is the Rogue MAX is getting compared to STEALTH PLUS.....where is should be compared to standard STEALTH.....either way the Rogue ST series is far more stretched back and to me this is unappealing.......I used Epic Speed last year with success.....never getting along with the more forgiving Epic Max or the more neutral/fade bias Epic Max LS 

But this is only one man's opinion......

Went in and was fit to the Epic Max LS and it beat out the Stealth handedly. Anyone compare the Rogue LS to the Epic Max LS, would love to know.

Probably not from Callaway directly.  But if there are not after market weights available, they soon will be.  Profit margins on those after market weights is pretty substantial.

Yea, I’ll certainly be on the look out. I play some odd swing weights and like to have the ability to adjust throughout the season, when tinkering …

Went in wit Ping 410LST - hit stealth, cobra, and tried the Rogue Max LS.  Left buying the Max LS.  In all, it was a little draw biased for me, but mostly straight.  Misses may have been 20 yds short, but still straight.  Cannot wait to get it.

Yes and it was too spiny for me.

With five rounds in this week with the Rogue ST Max, it has replaced my beloved PING.  I’m swinging it with the same reckless abandon I do with the G425 and it sounds better, average distances longer , has a definite, real, draw bias that helps me. Playing shorter irons into greens, which are foreign to me now having added the 225s this last week. Going to sell the Ping to add a Stealth to the fray because I’m covered for forgiveness and performance with the Rogue…really weird not losing many balls and playing ONE, maybe two balls during a round. They get beat up. Who knew ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Callaway nailed it with this driver.

What am I missing? Why are you going to buy a Stealth then?

Good info. The Rouge Max (LS) has been on my radar. I will definitely go hit it. Maybe my G400 Max might finally get retired.

Last years Epic Max was 5200 so probably a little higher.

Why would I not? Gives me something do do! I have multiple bags in our homes in the South and PNW. I have many shafts, heads , putters and and enjoy experiencing all the nuance of equipment from all manufacturers…

Waaay out on the toe really dropped spin and caused a long, low, left diving shot on the range, but I don't think the engineers planned on anyone actually hitting a ball in the spot 🙂  I found the curvature to be much less across the whole face than my Epic Speed TD, with a flatter ball flight. I can't speak to distance differences, but I didn't notice anything glaring. My game lives and dies off the tee, so accuracy is critical to any success I may have.

Seems the drivers being introduced this year all have Ping forgiveness  in their sights. Mizuno, TM, along with Ping seem to be almost interchangeable in terms distance and forgiveness with the choices being sound/feel, brand loyalty, or how much $ pain can our wallets endure…

Wow, what a driver. I really think this is the next cult status driver. For the level of forgiveness, it is really low spin. First driver I have been able to crack 160 mph ball speed with. Love the sound and feel. Ready to take it to the course. 

 

Only one negative. Just not a good looking driver. I can't stand the swollen adapter of Callaway drivers. Make this driver in a bonded hosel and it would be perfect.

I agree - waiting for mine to get in after a fitting. 

 

I think I'll get over the hosel, and was shown how it was set up to allow your shaft to chage loft/draw-fade and not rotate the grip.  Kind of neat concept especially if you play a ribbed grip.  Make sense and/or true?

I am waiting (not so patiently) also. Ordered a Custom red and black theme from Callaway on Jan. 21 and it still says 3-4 weeks on the order status page. I called last week and the RDX red shaft was holding me up so I told them to change it to a stock option (TENSEI white) to speed things up, but that hasn't seemed to help as I just checked and it still says 3-4 weeks. Uhhhg.
