Taylormade Stealth Weights

Anybody played with the rear weight yet or know where to find them? I’d like to add a little weight to the head, but haven’t seen them anywhere. 
 

In testing this was the best driver for me, but the callaway Rogue was way more efficient from a ball speed perspective. Lots of 1.51 smash. Would love to see if an extra 2-4g in there would help. 

 

I know Trottie mentioned in a video they were coming, but I called TM today and they told me otherwise.
 

FYI - They also told me changing the weight would void the warranty. Which seems stupid. Lol

Most of the demo heads I weighed have a 6g back weight.  Most likely once they become available Billy Bobs usually carries stuff like this.  You will need a smaller star wrench like the white cobra wrench for the f6 or earlier heads.

Forget about efficiency at this point. Was there a difference in ball speeds? I was just looking in the Chinese market and there are still no weights. My guess would be next month since it's Chinese New Year and nothing gets done in China for the next couple of weeks.

The stealth was definitely faster in the ball speed department, but it I can get a bit more I’d like to

Just to update, called TM today and they sent me 3 different weights. No charge. 
 

Asked what other shafts I’d be using, length of the shafts, and desired swing weights. Used their swingweight calculator to identify which weights I’d need for each desired swingweight. 
 

Spectacular service.

I suspect the aftermarket weights will be coming soon as they always pop up a bit after the initial release, really cool that they (I assume TM?) took care of you like that though. 

I've tried some DIY solutions hardware including steel spacers that fit in the circular weight port and longer screws, but i've only been able to add 3-4g over what is already there. Aside from basically permanent hotmelt we need tungsten, and that will wait on Chinese production since sourcing tungsten parts like that domestically will cost you as much as the club itself. 😬

it may be the approach I took. I told them I had an existing shaft that played at 45” and the club is swingweighted for 45.75 and I need to adjust it.

I custom ordered a shorter length from @TaylorMade Golf directly.  There was no where to type comments asking for a specific swing weight.  I told him they did the right thing and built it at D6 but unfortunately I would have requested D3.    I spoke to TM customer service who was helpful but got back to me the next day saying there were no extra weights available.

I just spent a thousand dollars on this driver. If it comes to me at D6 it’s useless to me. I wanted D3 out 2.

Ya unfortunately I’m probably going to have to do the custom Home Depot washer option or wait for Billy Bobs to come out.   Not too impressed with the custom order option, you can ask for any colour/grip/length etc but not swing weight.

Any updates on weights?  Mine is playing D5.5 at 44.5 with the included 13g weight and I need it to play at D3 so I need a 8 or 9g weight.

Just spoke to TMAG, weight kits coming next month or two for retail consumption for both front and back weights.

So, either be patient waiting for TMAG or Billy Bobs...bummer

Need a 5g weigh?

 

Use a Nylock hex nut....file off the edges of the hex and the tss screw will fit inside the nylon insert and keep the nut in the tss hole.

I have a 13g rear weight if anyone has shorter build with a heavier grip and is in need.

Oh, I was also told they "build drivers at D5" which sounds like BS to me.

D5 for a Driver?  Sheesh, swinging a sledgehammer.

based on my math, I need an 8 or 9 gram weight.  

 

44.75 at D5, need to drop 2 SW points, or 4g.

 

So, I guess I'll have to wait for TMAG or BB.  The nuts I have found are too light.

I ground my weight down on the back edges and the side. Went from D6 to D3

Not exactly. With most drivers being 45.5" - 45.75" and sporting pretty lightweight stock shaft options, D4-D5 is basically the new "normal".

Add me to the list of those who called Taylormade and they sent me out some weights. It’s amazing how crappy their customer service is that it’s a crap shoot on them saying they simply aren’t available and/or sending them for free.
