reunited with an old friend-Rapture V2

I finally scored another Ping Rapture v2 with a blueboard. I haven't owned one in the last 8-10 years, but I am thrilled to get one back into play in 2022. I'm curious how this stacks up against my g400 max/Tour R combo.

Rapture v2 is my all time favorite head, so this will be epic!

Has anyone else gone back to an old club recently?

Interested in results,i just sold my V1 and was after an i20 but got outbid and landed a half bag deal last Sunday that gave me a free g20! and have spotted a 2014 JDM Onoff that seems a great option,and cheaper than a V2 in NZ.

Never had a V2 but heard a lot of good things about it. Gamed the original Rapture for a few years and it was a beast. Hit drives I've never came close to with any other driver!

Once or twice a year I pull out a low lofted 905R and R510 TP and like 2-3 shots out of them and promptly go back to a newer driver that I hit further more often and in play more often.

As I look back, that Rapture V2 was one of the most successful drivers I ever used and only the itch for something new made me move away from it. I don't know how it would compare in performance to today's drivers, but it was better than the next few I went with at the time.

I have gone back to A LOT of older clubs recently. In fact, I sold off most of my newer stuff in favor of the older stuff. The only "new" club I have at the moment is a SIM2 Max driver that I haven't even got to hit yet (can we all agree that winter REALLY sucks?????!!!!!). I have several older iron sets (MP 30, Adams a4 forged, Hogan Edge, Zing Becu, Golfsmith Tour Cavity Forged, a couple Snake Eyes sets, and a few sets of nice old blades) and they are all great. I got rid of the Hot Metals, G25's, and i210's as they weren't any better. I also bought an OG Rapture driver and it is VERY good. I'm loving my older Titleist 904F and 906F fairway woods as well. My newest fairway wood is an Epic Flash 7 wood. Definitely not old, but everything else is much older. I think the next newest ones are my G25 4 and 5 woods and Adams Super LS woods. I still play 915H hybrids from time to time, as well as some Adams hybrids. They're all just as good as anything made today. I have a mix of new to old wedges, and they all work about the same. The OEMs must hate when hos stop hoing new stuff and go back to hoing old stuff as they aren't making any money on me now. But my wallet isn't quite as light now and I'm in hog heaven with all my awesome older clubs! I can't wait for spring to get here so we can get this party started!
