It wasn't me! I bought it for $40 in a used club shop and while hanging out at my clubmakers place a friend of mines came in and was chatting me me about my bag when he noticed his old Zodia. He never gave me an explanation for the chip though no matter how much I asked! :(

 

OH...and I like BLING! :beach: My new bag is in the mail so I should be editing these photo's soon again! :lol:

I love my Fourteen. Not just because I got it free! :lol: but because it works great. I previously used a Tourstage F uT 3/19*hybrid and although a good club, I just was not consistent with it. A friend offered me his Fourteen HI 558 and since I had already been looking for the HI 660 I figured I'd might as well try the free one.

 

I've read where people don't particularly like how it works from hardpan/tight lies, but I've experienced no problems with that. I've been able to hit it out of any lie and excellently off the tee. It's easily surpassed all my needs that I wanted in it. It's pretty much my go to club on the tee on tight Par 4's or as my second shot club on tight Par 5's. I'm easily getting about 235 yards with the Fourteen.

 

I was just looking at the HI 660 the other day in a shop, but since I've been doing so great with the 558's extra offset, thicker sole and top line, I figured why mess with a good thing.

Thanks for the compliments! I never would have thought that I'd find something to kick the Tour R7 out but after one round the X Drive was it. I've been using it now on the course for a couple of weeks, hit a couple thousand balls on the range too. It's absolutely the longest driver I've used and very forgiving. On misshits, there's no noticable distance loss. I love the solid sound at impact. I'd highly recommend everyone to give this driver a try. You won't regret it.

Man I love that X-Drive :lol: Too bad they only make it up to 9.5°...I would have been all over a 10.5°. Does it fly higher or lower than a R7TP/Tour in the same loft??

Riuzzi.....my Tour R7 was a 9.5* too. I tried shaft combinations and even went up to 14gram weights to attempt to get the trajectory I was looking for. The X Drive goes higher then any of the shaft/weight combinations I was looking for in the R7 and still outdrives it. I really get a nice kick and roll when my ball lands. The R7 is an excellent driver and is still in my "back-up" bag, but the X Drive at this time just gives me that little extra I was looking for. You might consider the Bridgestone J33 if you're stuck on the 10.5*. I"ve heard they play similar but just different headsizes.

 

As for the Royal Collection Blades, they were very sweet, but the MP32's were a lot easier to hit.

Nice Bag as well, I would like to try a set of the MP-32's, I am kind of a Titleist nut though. You have to get that bag replaced, you don't see too many around. I will be watching to see what you change to next.

Ahhhhhh....the neverending bag change. I had some time so I updated the pics again.

 

Changes made.

 

X Drive for the time being is out. Tour R7 is back in. No specific reason for the change.....just that my driving has been sucking and I figured the change would "jump start" my drives. The R7 is shorter but seems to be more controllable. BR61/Bill.....recognize it? :D

 

Zodia is out, TC Vokey 52 is back in the bag. Zodia was good, but it's worn out and I need to start hunting another one.

 

The neverending putter change has led me back to a Napa. I used Napa's back in '97, '99, and '00.....it's back in the bag for '05 at least for now. Couple of Newports being sent to the Custom Shop will probably take it's place when they return.

They are getting harder and harder to get though. :D Anyway, I see that you put the R7 back in the bag!?!? I don't know what I would do without my X-drive. When you make it on the tour, make sure to send me some hush hush type of $hit. Mahalo

Tour??? Oh please... :D not with my old body and hack swing! Yup, the R7 is probably just temporary. I was in a funk for about three rounds and felt like a change was needed. I love the distance and solid hit of the X Drive, but I just wanted to make a little switch to maybe kick start my drives again. The X Drive will probably be back in the bag in a few weeks.

A friend got my cover for me while he was in Japan. They cost about $45 and this style is a little hard to find. Due to Shigeki using a similar cover, they were sold out at the first three shops he went to.

How do you like the hi-858.....im probly gonna switch from my blade 2 iron i dont like the rescue mid tp or the Titleist 503.h too much...have both...please let me know is it easy to hit off the fairway and tee ....does it play more like an iron????

Geesh...way to kick the dog buddy. :hunter: I'm an idiot...I putt well with the blade but am spending a ton on the Camerons Custom work. I have to make use of them when I get them back. :nono: And yes, two rounds and four sessions at the range and the X Drive is back in. At least for the moment. Who knows...maybe you'll see something totally new in there next week. :drinks: That's why I'll forego the pics for a few weeks to make sure my bag has settled down a bit.

HI 858 works great for me. A friend of mines gave it to me after not realizing enough success with it. After I got used to looking down at the offset, it's been a great addition to the bag. I've been able to hit it high/low, left/right, tight lie fairways and some thick stuff. It's very easy to hit off the tee. It plays for me just like an iron, but easier then a normal 2 iron. You could almost say "idiot proof". You might consider the HI 660 if you want something similar but with less offset. Hope that helps you out.

It's a pretty good bag. Lots of pockets and main ball pocket is huge. The straps are really comfortable and the bag is a very comfortable weight. I think it might be even a little less then my old Titleist CBS41 but without the "bling" factor.

Nice additions, I am so upset that you did not replace your Titleist bag. There are not many of them out there. I am curious about the 858. I had one and like your friend did not enjoy great success with mine. Like all your stuff. keep updating.

It's actually a "Tour" R7. It's a great driver. No complaints whatsoever about it. It actually completely stopped my driver "ho-ing" because whenever I was unsatisfied, I'd just change the weight set up and have a "new" driver. The only reason I stopped using it was that I found the X Drive and was looking for a few more yards. I'm getting a little more distance with the X Drive, but the main thing is the impact is a lot more solid with the X Drive then the R7. The R7 will always be my back up driver though when things go haywire.

 

 

Nice additions, I am so upset that you did not replace your Titleist bag. There are not many of them out there. I am curious about the 858. I had one and like your friend did not enjoy great success with mine. Like all your stuff. keep updating.

Yeah John, I was debating getting the CBS41, but I was also debating just getting a full size bag too. I figured the Nike was a cheap investment to get me through till I found a bag a really wanted again.

 

The first thing I did with the 858 was get rid of the NSPRO shaft and put in a plain old DG X100. Its an inch longer then your normal 2 iron and with some lead tape got it up to a D4. After I got used to the offset, this club has been my go to for so many shots lately. It's probably the only thing "safe" in the bag next to my wedges. I'll keep updating, but like you said in your thread, August is going to be an expen$ive month. :vava:
