Lamkin Crossline: Air Install?

Have any of you guys had success with air installation with these? Any twisting or coming loose?

Air is not my prefered method, but I did the Sonar Tours and had no issue. My friend has a smaller hand size and has not used tape under for decades now, so air is the best option for his grips. I use the corded mid size Crossline so air is out of the equation for my install.

Use blue painter's tape and you shouldn't have any issue.  Rubber compound grips like Tour Velvet, the Lamkins you are describing etc won't twist when you blow them on with this tape.  Some other grips that have a different material can twist but it's usually minor

I've used plain masking tape as well. with blown on Lamkins (Crossline, REL ACE) without issues.

Never had any problems (w/ at least one wrap of 1-sided build up tape).

 

But shaft butt size could potentially make a difference.

You can blow on a Crossline mid size cord

I have never had luck with two additional layers of tape and a .60 but shaft with a .58 core Lamkin CLC MS .. It is tight !

Punch several pin holes down and around the grip, through the "texture indents".  This will allow you to use some extra air pressure to get the grip on, while greatly minimizing the chance of bubbling and ruining the grip.

 

In addition, you can always use a little mineral spirits just at the mouth of the grip, to help slide it on while you're giving it air.  No need to cover the entire inside of the grip with solvent.  Just a very small amount for a little help

A little grip solvent on the end regular masking tape, never had any issues. At least in my case.
