Motocaddy M7 Remote

Recommended Posts

I tested one for another site and basically like it. I am not able to walk a bunch but they knew that when they selected me. It helped with the rehab because our practice areas are spread out. They were gracious enough to send us testers the bag also. Honestly I am not into 14 way cart bags but as far as fit on the cart it is a no brainer fits and does well. I like the cart bag combo when I am experimenting on the range. I can carry extra balls because I do not hit range rocks with my persimmon woods. Also has a cooler pocket and I can keep my water cold. I like the bag does have ample room for me to carry stuff like lead tape and other stuff to make adjustments with. It has a little score card holder that also holds a couple of golf balls. I especially liked the desk as I called it to make notes on 3X5 cards for shop adjustments. I have loaded the bag and cart down quite a bit because I had to pick up balls to practice with. On that day it carried all of that plus my metal chair. Between the pockets and bag shag I had probably 60 balls on it. I also like the umbrella holder that way I could sit in the chair in the shade make notes and drink water. And if you choose not to buy the bag for it part of my test because I have a lot of bags were to try different ones. Have hauled everything from my Burton real leather staff bag to my Old Ping Hoofer with no problems

Also, anyone with any experience with Motocaddy golf bags?  Considering getting one because of the stability attachment screws.

I've had a MC stand bag for the last three years on my M3 Pro. The easilock screws have to be one of the most underrated features on any golf bag, anywhere, period. I have played the last few rounds without strapping the bottom of my bag in (it was broken) - and not once does the bag even move.

Also love how easy it is to unclip the carry straps before a round. Just a really well designed golf bag.

I had a cart bag but IMO they are a little lacking design wise. I have a small tear in my stand bag - my fault - and I will absolutely rebuy it again when I decide to replace it.

Only small issue was I ended up ordering from England because at the time they did not sell the stand bags in the US - I think that has changed but not 100% sure.

Thanks for the info!  I think I need to get the Pro Series, Tech Series or Dry Series.  Lot's of info out there that a lighter bag is more likely to tip.  We'll see.

.From what I understand they do have a US distributor set up in L.A.. Now when we were selected for the test the 2 M-7 models had to be shipped in. They ended up in a container stuck in L.A. harbor. Mine and the other M-7 unit they brought in by air (Fed-EX). The bags evidently were in stock already in the US because I got  mine in S Carolina within 3 days after we were notified and one of my buds in Ga got his in the same time frame

I have no idea with the current state of things whether they got stocked up or not on carts and bags

... There is also a distributor in Aurora Illinois. I had some problems with my M7 and luckily they were only a 15 minute drive from my house so I drove it over and they fixed it for me, called me two days later and I picked it up.

Yeah my complaint 5 or so years ago was that they only had *one* distributor in the US. May or may not be the same company. But they were horrible to deal with and not at all responsive. I ended up ordering all my accessories and bag from England. Noticed that they have a US website at least now - which is a good change. No idea why they are not more popular here but this could be one reason. Everywhere you go in Scotland you can rent MCs for the day.

... The distributor in Aurora has been there at least 10 years or more. But he was a one man operation, in a small office stacked wall to wall and all the way to the ceiling carts and parts. Mottocaddy and  Powacaddy so I imagine he was completely overwhelmed.

My take on it was that when we did the test they were trying to expand into the USA. They did hire a US based company President for over here. I actually with others did a Zoom call or whatever you call it when we started testing. I am also on several golf groups on FB the main one being the Persimmon Golf Society. From what I have gathered on there they have been in Europe for quite a few years and are popular. I do not know their business plan for the USA so to speak. I do have a couple of fellow members at my club that work for PGASS and so far they have not stocked them or at least here in the Myrtle Beach area. In this area I do not think they will catch on not due to any fault of Motocaddy but 99% of our courses here are not conducive to walking no matter the age or physical condition of the players. Too many houses and the courses are spread out so far between the greens and next tee

... I have owned the remote controlled Quad Navigator, ZIP Navigator and the M7. Quite a few others before those but all are out of business. I play 5 times a week and walk so they have all gotten lots of use.

My favorite is the ZIP for a variety of reasons but at the top of the list is the gyroscope the keeps the ZIP on it's path. If it hits a slope and moves a little one way or the other, the gyro gets it back on track. ALL of the remote carts I have used tend to wander. I'd fix the tracking to stop it from moving right and then it would move left so constant babysitting" as it wanders down the fairway. Gyroscope is a game changer and I no longer have to babysit my ZIP until it gets to my ball. The battery is lighter, lasts for 36 holes easily and the 3 times I forgot to charge it after the 2nd round (thinking I had only played once) it made it to the car 2 times and died on 16 the 3rd time. Pretty hilly course so 2 rounds is always handled easily. I had a problem with the electronics and M GI sent me a new axel and wheels by mistake. I let them know and the fed ex'ed the electronics and told me to just keep the axel and extra wheels. Pretty cool. Once I replaced the electronics I have never had another problem with my ZIP.

2nd is the Quad for many of the reasons listed above including the gyroscope. It is a heavier and can be finicky with the remote turning sharply instead of gently and the two main reasons I prefer the ZIP.

I sold my M7. It constantly wandered right or left and needed constant babysitting. I just put up with it until I tried a Quad at the PGA Show and with the gyroscope it really held it's line. Kept it as a back up until I bought the ZIP and then sold it. Never had any problems with it though, other than the wandering which was a real Pia.

Exactly said !!!

the gyro tracking makes such a big difference. I have the Quad, my playing partner has the Zip. Both being the best in the industry.

Thank you Australia!
