4 hybrid

4H keeps sneaking into my bag.

 

Circa 2016, Cobra FlyZ 22* 4H jumped into bag after hook problems with Adams model. Added FlyZ 3H as 7W replacement in cold weather.

 

One day, the FlyZ pair just became a bit much to handle... shafts started feeling heavy.

 

In came the Calla Big Bertha O'size 22* 4H. A bit longer than 4i in previous iron set-up. With new Mav MAX irons, the 5i is  hotter than with old set, the O'size 4H had survived.

 

Need a hybrid lesson to learn to maximize it. Have had superb 4H shots, on tight tee shots, longish par 3s and some magic approaches. But, a flew clunkers also, likely operator error!!! 🙄 If I can find out the clunker source, this could be my go-to bridge club.

I've tried lots and lots of hybrids without any success - they're a hooking machine for me.  I play a Ping G400 7 wood. Full swing for the 3 iron, Choke down an inch for a 4 iron. Fabulous.

I’m testing Titleist tsi3 currently.  The 20 degree still sits well at 22 degrees.  While I think this head works for me, I haven’t figured out the right shaft since currently have my 4 iron with MMT 95 grams and 3H at 85 grams.  Plus experimenting with a higher launch shaft for a 4H and lower launch with 3H.  My 3H is a 9 year old Titleist 913hD so considering upgrading to something with more forgiveness this year.

I have a 23 hybrid, love it for chipping around the green. People mention the "hot" face. This is primarily why I use it as the zoysia at our course really eats up putts from the fringe/fairway. Works great. If I need height I often wish i was hitting my hybrid instead of my 5/6 irons.

That Mavrik Pro hybrid looks great. Love the shape.

Try a 7w head with a 4H length shaft (~39.5*) swing weighted properly and your be in golfer's heaven; only goes straight, doesn't launch as high or as spinny... super confidence when you step up to it!

Me too, tried a few and it was terrible. Left of left all day.. I carry an old Adams 20 degree with a jumbo grip on it to keep my hands quiet, I still can gakk one left though.

 

I carry a 4 and 5 iron still, but will pull the hybrid 210 to 220. I also have an old 980f 5wood that I swap in at times..
