ZX5 vs. T300

I have been playing the T300's for three seasons now and am about to jump to the ZX5 from Srixon. Love the feel of them and they seem to peovide ample forgivness. The reason for the post is two fold, has anyone made a similar move? and also the head shapes look very similar to my naked eye but I cannot seem to locate the Titliest specs for top line width, sole width and blade length, would anyone have these numbers for me? thank you in advance

I can understand wanting to geek out on specs but I'm assuming you're unable to compare the 2 in store?  As for playability, they are similar'ish with healthy sized soles so I think you'd be fine with the transition.

Good luck!

Thanks for your response and as I said visually they look very similar but manufacturers do subtle little tricks with the finish to hide the size especially the topline so I just wanted to see the actual numbers

How much would it matter to you if the zx5 was thicker/slimmer in the top line by less than 2mm?  My point is if they look near identical, and you're OK with the difference, who cares what the spec sheet says as long as they perform to your expectations?

At any rate, I'm sure you'd be happy in the zx5 as long as you're fit properly. They are a fantastic clubhead that plenty WRX'ers are enjoying!

I had the ZX5 the majority of last year.  Then got the 2021 T300 when they came out.   To me the T300 were better in every regard.  And I liked the zX5 but sold them and haven’t regretted keeping the T300 one moment.

i didn’t notice a huge difference either way in top width or blade length.

I play the 1 gen T300 and tried ZX5. For me the most noticeable difference is that ZX5 has a wider sole but l think it plays narrower because of the V-sole. Otherwise than that it is just up to the players perception of feel.

@harlequine thanks for chiming in, I play the first generation T300's as well. Can you give me your opinion as to how the two sets  matched up as far as forgiveness/distance goes? thanks again and I look foward to your response

I just play down to a six iron but i think my T300 launched a bit higher in the 6-7 irons and more similar to ZX5 in 8-pw. In my T300 i play DG AMT black shafts that are heavier than the modus 105 shafts in ZX5.  Distance in favor for T300 but it is very little difference over all for me.

I think the ZX4 would be more in line with the T300 than ZX5 which would be more like T200s. ZX5s felt really good, unfortunately never looked at the 300s.

I play the '21 T300 in 4-6i and the ZX5 in 7-AW.  The T300 are definitely more forgiving in the long irons but the ZX5 definitely feel better, especially in the short irons.  The T300 long to mid irons are noticeably larger than the ZX5, with noticeably more offset and more of the rear cavity viewable at address.   I've also noticed the T300 makes a slight whistling noise when swung fast, especially in the wind.  The ZX5 short irons have much better touch around the greens.  If your priority is forgiveness go T300, if it's feel go ZX5, i'm trying to work the ZX5 mid to long irons back in the bag and if I had to choose one set right now it would be ZX5.

Agree completely. Also Zx5 are partial forgings vs T300,FWIW. Both good stix but Zx5 more players distance in my book vs T300 game improvement.

just revisting this as I have returned to the first generation T300s as the extra forgiveness could not be ignored. ZX5s were a solid club and one of my buddies got the deal of a lifetime, but I had to come to terms that with golf equipment I need to stop making changes out of boredom or just for the sake of change. I feel that for the first time in years my set up reflects that with the exception of the driver where I am going back and forth with a Rogue Max ST ls and a Ping G410 lst.

I went the other direction, went from '22 T300 back to my ZX5's, mainly because the soles of the T300 were too wide for me, especially in the longer irons, and I could see too much of the cavity in the mid to longer irons at address.  I realize I prefer a fairly thin sole in my irons, i was worried about the thick soles bouncing and causing thin shots.  I still have the T300's but it's the ZX5 for now.  The expression play the most forgiving club you can stand to look at is very true.
