Low spin Driver/Irons and high spin wedge ball?

Are you looking for a preimum ball recommendation? In most non-premium balls you will see significantly less spin across the board. Titleist Pro V1 is lower spinning than most premium balls off the driver and has mid iron spin. Yet, it maintains a high level of spin around the greens. TXG compared the new Pro V1 and the Pro V1X, which is considered the spinniest ball around the greens save for maybe the BRidgestone Tour BXS, and found that the spin on 55 yard shots was very similar.

Highest spin tour ball that I've tested was the BX S.  My cousin gave me a sleeve to try and those suckers spin like crazy with wedges.  Problem for me is that I'm a high spin player so it's not a good fit for me.  All tour balls will be on the low spin side, even the ones that spin a ton for irons.

If a ball is spinny, it’s spinny off all clubs. If a ball is not spinny, it’s not spinny on all clubs. Generally the X type balls spin more, and the softer lower compression balls spin less. Below are results of a robotic test done with 100mph driver swing, 77mph 8 iron swing, and a 55yd wedge shot. The first pic shows driver spin lowest to highest, the next  pic is 8 iron spin lowest to highest, and the next Luc is 55yd wedge spin sorted highest to lowest. Based on looking at the 3 charts, it seems Srixon Z Star would the best option.

PROV 1X is the ball you are describing. Spins too much around the green for me and is low spin off driver.

Pro V1x is designed to be the best ball Titleist knows how to make with respect to two characteristics:

 

High spin separation (the technical term for what you're describing)

High ball flight (actual downrange trajectory not "launch")

 

But any modern urethane ball is going to have pretty similar or even slightly greater wedge and short game spin as Pro V1x. They do vary somewhat on spin off the irons. And off the driver most of them are designed to be fairly low spin. 

 

So IMO, to a good approximation you can pick a "Tour" ball that has the iron spin and overall trajectory you like and it'll be not too far off from maximum short game spin and minimum driver spin.

For a ball in the $30 range, I respectfully promote a trial of the Bridgestone E12 Contact. Long with Driver, & can back up on greens with mid irons down.
