Yea its a different market I guess, I don't have cable, or netflix or any of the streaming services. When I watch my TV its only YouTube I am watching. Oh there is one of those free digital cable antenna things on my house that picks up a few channels outta Buffalo but its terrible quality.

TBH they have all run their course. Struggling to find remotely interesting topics. Shiels has the right idea by going down the chat show route. I have no need to watch a range grade pro hack it round a scruffy course in Lancashire. And Golf Mates is painfully unfunny.

That's the best part about YouTube, there's always other content creators out there, and new content being made daily, plus it's all free... Now paying $120 to be advertised to on cable, THAT's run it's course!

Maybe take a break from watching golf content. I've gone through spells where I have no desire to watch anything golf related, but after you take a break and go back, it's refreshing, and there is usually new content to get caught up on.

I have ZERO interest in watching trick shots.....course vlogs......or club reviews. It's all the same played out content that people have been making since 2008. ALL THE DRIVERS PERFORM THE SAME AND HAVE FOR A DECADE NOW

That being said I AM interested in stuff like.....Club fitting......Swing theory/lessons.....

I like

Matt Blois golf (TXG sucks now. I CANNOT take advice from awkward 20 handicappers sorry)

Russel Heritage - fantastic swing content.

My swing evolution (cuz I'm a hogan fan)

Aside from a bunch of the more popular channels everyone already knows about, here are some I think deserve some more views:

Paul Makes Par (Criminally underrated. Amazing production quality, and a likeable, relatable personality.)

Martin Borgmeier (What a smart, likeable, hardworking athlete)

The Vintage Golfer (Quirky personality with an affinity for the classics. I like the simple format.)

Not a Scratch Golfer (Concise course vlogs. Honestly gives me hope I can score somewhat decently and not to feel too bad when i don't. And to play golf rather than golf swing)

Stacked Golf (Not so small anymore but they way they enjoy golf is they way I enjoy golf)

Club Pro Guy

Some underrated gear review channels: 2nd Swing, National Club Golfer, Golfalot, Tim Elliot Golf

And anytime someone does an old vs. new comparison video or a 2nd hand /vintage challenge, I'll 100% watch.

I don't do instructional videos.  I was subscribed to several other golf channels for years but I'm now only subscribed to Alex Evans Golf.  He's best friends with, and caddies for Paul Waring on the DP World Tour.  They have a lot of fun and Waring is a stellar ball striker.  Alex is also a very good player and has been playing in several qualifiers.  Its a fun channel to watch as both guys are very funny.

I used to be subscribed to several golf Y-tubers.  I've never done instructional videos.  The only golf Y-tube channel I'm still subscribed to is Alex Evans Golf.  Alex is best friends with, and caddies for, Paul Waring on the DP World Tour.  It's just those two guys playing golf, training, and needling each other non-stop.  Waring is a great ball striker and Alex is a good player also.  It's just a fun channel to kick back with and have a few laughs.

Been mainly just watching Crossfield and Lockey for years now, from course vlogs, instruction, and gear reviews.. love their honesty and banter lol

I don’t normally look for instruction though, not that I don’t need it but it seems like aside from the general golf knowledge I just get lost trying to implement 10 different peoples ideas on the same thing. I get more out of watching Tiger warmup/range sesh then the YT instruction.

I’ll watch anyone’s gear reviews though, I like all opinions on my next unnecessary purchases lol

I just stumbled onto Manolo (looking up 3-club challenges).  I now have a new swing thought:

Smack dassh hit!

DASSIT! 🤣

...Otherwise I've stopped watching Sheils since he blew up a few weeks ago. That other youtuber he plays against gets all up in his head, could see that from the getgo. Also I didn't watch Rick for any instruction, just entertainment.

Then I watch replays of past Opens and Masters to see all those I missed in BITD. I also go digging for footage from great courses in my region (like Sweetens). Otherwise I like Random GCF, and Trish 815 is in tune with my new swing. Good Good when they're messing with Rick.

I'll peruse the listings above next time I run out of ways to kill time on YT.  thanks?

I don't watch Shiels but would be entertained to see this. Who was he playing against?

Paul Makes Par is criminally underrated. The production quality is that of a million subscriber channel and I enjoy the voiceover format a lot.   He returned to golf after a long time off and it's very relatable content along with some pure golf-nut shenanigans.

I don't recall his name, but in recent weeks they had a rematch and Rick blew up bad. It's his "I quit" vid. The breaking 75 series maybe.

It was their second match because Rick was flabbergasted when he was bested by a less serious golfer in their first match and thought he was ready to get even.   hth

dug up the info. (later on the desktop)

The course is "The Belfrey" and the other player is "Guy".

I think Rick sealed his fate by being over-confident in his revenge practice and new bits of gear, but most by letting Guy get into his head (again).  Here's where he makes a deal over Guy beating him previously:

(at 3:16 in case the index doesn't work)

Shiels is a prime example that playing the latest equipment (he changes all the time) does not compensate for lack of skills/play.

He seems like a nice guy but his technical knowledge is not great and his knowledge about tour golf is poor too.

I've seen some other YT golfers get a little too YT fixated and seems their game slips. But hey they're out there doing it and I'm just yapping about it. Good content ain't easy and GIH (golf is hard).

And probably a lot of the appeal I find in Manolo's content is that he does it with such drama, but never really seems to take himself too seriously. But he hits a lot of good shots too-it's a good balance for me.  I'm not watching anyone for instruction or tips-but for strategy and mind games. The "Guy" fellow got all into Rick's head as I see it, but I also think Rick left that door wide open so it wasn't that difficult. Hell I'd never actually want to play with Rick because he chatters over the short shots and putts of his "competition" all the time. Doesn't matter if it's positive not.  HUSH when I'm making a shot!

I pulled another name out of this thread and found some really good content--and wonderfully done because they have the BEST MICROPHONES for wind as anyone out there making YT content.  You could see the flags and trees moving, but barely hear the wind at all--but with great audio fidelity on voices and ball strikes and holing out. It was a real treat. Couple of Brits I think. I'll be watching more of their stuff just to avoid wind noise, but to see some fresh golf.
