Is the standard Stealth the Jan Brady of the range?

I recently did a fitting at my town's premier outfit and (assuming Trackman fitting is valid) the Stealth was blatantly superior to my current driver (Tsi2) and the usual suspects.

 

I didn't try the Plus or HD at the fitting.

 

As a confirmed cheapskate I bought a used Stealth head and a used shaft as per the recommendation.

 

Then bargain priced Plus and HDs popped up locally so I bought them too.

 

Meanwhile I pored over the various online tests of the family and noticed that whilst the Plus was the distance king, the HD seemed to consistently outperform its middle sibling. 

 

When all the heads arrived and I took them for a spin at my local Trackman emporium the same was true for me.

 

The Plus had most distance potential but was less forgiving than I'd like.

 

But the HD was lower spinning and straighter than the regular Stealth.

 

Anyone else find this?

When I did my fitting, I was given the regular Stealth. I couldn’t get my spin numbers/launch angles down. We tried multiple shafts, but we ended up going with the Plus as I got much better performance from that head.

 

I would have assumed that I was a regular Stealth person who needed forgiveness, but I found the Plus head to be forgiving enough for me. I’ve never been happier with a driver and I had it since the first day it was released. My honeymoon phase was over a while ago.

I guess Jan Brady was my jam, because I went into the regular Stealth.  For me it has been great.  PX blue has been excellent fit.  One note.  Love the driver, hate the headcover.  It is like threading a needle

How would you characterize your strike pattern and misses on the face, as well as which direction the "less straight" shots of the other heads were going? The CG location of the heads and how they vary could be the main factor here.

I demoed the regular Stealth and Plus at the local golf store.  The regular Stealth was spinning to much although launch was good.  Switched over to the Plus which brought spin down and launch angle down 1-2* and that sealed the deal.  Picked up a head from @JustinD and I'm a happy camper.  It's a huge upgrade from the SIM 2 that I had last year.

Now I am pondering if the 9* Stealth H(ey)(Cin)D(y) head would be the best of the sisters.

I'm a low spin low launch player... my miss with the plus just fell out of the sky.  I didn't want to go 10.5 degree, so we tried the 9 degree in regular stealth.  It's been awesome for me!

The HD should be lower spin because the weight is in the heel as opposed to all the way in back?  Or maybe I'm way off.

In further experimentation I added another HD to the mix. So I now have an HD 9, an HD10.5 and a regular Stealth 10.5.

 

On Trackman the HD9 produces the best numbers, followed by the HD 10.5.

 

For some reason the regular Stealth has a notably lower smash factor than her sisters.

 

On course, however, it is a little different.

 

Whilst it is much harder to do a direct comparison, my impression is that regular Stealth is more consistent.

 

But who knows.

After more experimentation I take back my nasty Jan slur.

 

The other Stealths did indeed produce better numbers on Trackman. And some great drives on course.

 

But the regular Stealth has proven itself in the heat of battle.

 

For me it has been more consistent and long enough.

 

The others have been sold. Regular Stealth is now an only child.

I’ve a regular stealth 10.5° set at 9°. Was an easy fit for me as it plays pretty much identical to the og sim max it replaced but with a tad more forgiving nature.

 

that forgiving nature plays all day and will even let me go after one here and there if needed.    I’m pretty flat at delivery  as in not descending or ascending maybe slightly up on the longer balls I guess.  Anyways the stealth works well for me.  
my only worry was how that face held up over time.  Played about forty rounds with it so far and what with various Trips to the range (hitting the pick of the litter ) it’s doing fine.  No worries there for me any longer.

While I am too young to understand the reference, I’ve hit both the plus and the regular but not the HD. For me the plus was noticeably better than the regular one. I think the regular one just doesn’t feel as good as the plus to many people. I have also yet to see a regular stealth in the wild.

LOL, I watched The Brady Bunch when it was in prime time and the reference makes no sense.
