Faldo 90 Masters what are those woods?

He's using persimmon woods, 1,3, and on the Wilson staff.  So are they Wilson tour bloc woods or ? Ray Floyd has J's weapon I think? Metal woods starting to enter the scene.  Feels distances are getting longer for all players in the 90s year by year, anyone get that impression, well before the switch away from balata.

He used Mac M85s for a long time. I'm guessing that's what he had in the bag back then. He's certainly hitting a persimmon off the tee.

 

There was a WRXer on here years ago who was very knowledgeable about the clubs Faldo used.

Thanks!  My collection is about to be packed away for an impending move.  I have posted them a lot over the years but may come up with a short series of some sort of concept pictures once the move to Florida is completed and we're in the house this fall.

Florida's First Coast, between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach.  It will be great never to have to shovel snow from my driveway, patio and walks again AND to be able to play golf all year long.

I did a double take when I read "5 inches over standard". I know he's tall, but not that tall!

 

Interesting to hear he was using a Hogan shaft in a Mac Wood. Wonder what Ben Hogan thought about that...

Oh I can double guarantee Mr Hogan did not like it one bit. Back in the day he sent a letter out warning his dealers about selling Apex shafts to be used in non Hogan Clubs. A Pro friend of my Old Man was a dealer and got one. He sent a copy to my old man who was amused. For some reason that he would never state my old man did not like Mr Hogan. What was funny was that pro was a source of the shafts my old man got to do the Mac Hogan conversions in the area. Gotta give my old man credit he hated that conversion. But he liked to make money. My old man said for the life of him he could not understand why someone would mess up a perfectly good Macgregor club with a inferior shaft. I bet my old man rolled in his grave 3 times when I started back doing the conversions about 10 years ago now
