2023 LIV Golf League Schedule (STAY ON TOPIC)

The LIV Invitational Series has stated that they are looking at a 14 event schedule for 2023.  A credible source has shared the following tentative schedule:

 

Rancho Palos Verdes (Los Angeles County)

Westchester (New York)

Bedminster

Portland

Boston

Chicago

Philadelphia

Miami

Jeddah

Bangkok

Scotland

Saudi Arabia x2

I'm genuinely curious to know if LIV is having a tough time securing top tier courses.   

 

 

Are they going to return to the same courses in the same city annually?

The LIV will have **zero** problem securing top tier courses.

 

With the amount of money they're throwing around? I would say there are probably only a tiny handful of courses that would say no.

I guess since my earlier post was rejected, there is an owner of golf courses that can’t be named, that has courses in most of these locations that would be happy to have these events.  Already hosting 2 events in 2022.

With the PGA Tour's ban today you better believe the Los Angeles event goes up against THE PLAYERS date.

 

The majors are not safe.  I see a US-based event going up against the USPGA.  Masters, British and US Open are safe, for now, depending on if they chose to ban LIV players.  Turnberry to host an event.  Major moves are happening.  2022 is just a warm-up lap.

LIV would never go up against the majors. The ultimate goal is to gain OWGR status.

Three events in Saudi Arabia, one in the continent of Europe? (Scotland? I would guess a Trump course given the link there). Truly a world tour that Greg Norman has set up there.

The Bay Area/Northern CA is A LOT more than SF. I live in the Bay Area, ~30 miles from SF. It was 96° today 😜

TBD. I think the most concerning/exciting/whatever take away is how many tournaments will be in the US. Full offensive. Yikes.

Many may have missed this because the PGA Tour has not released their Fall schedule, but the WGC HSBC China is scheduled for Oct 30 (on DP World Tour Schedule)....the same weekend as LIV Doral. The '23 LIV schedule will release post PGA TOUR 22-23...so they know the dates to target.

I know the LIV Tour is offering a good bit of money to the courses for hosting the events. I think they are going to play on some championship golf courses. It's exciting to see what they are doing. I love hearing that they have a 14 event schedule set for next year. I think that is a great amount of tournaments from a player's perspective. Great balance of time to compete and time to be with their families and practice.

Look for extreme backlash for courses in the US holding and promoting the exhibitions.

Unless LIV takes off and then suddenly their 14 event schedule balloons to 20 or 25 events and these guys are playing a lot more than they anticipated.

Sounds awesome doesn’t it?  Plus the cash is great….I mean it’s a bit dirty but so what?

 

But….if reports are correct and all events are mandatory….with the majors that’s 18 events.  MORE than some are playing now.  AND with events mandatory they will have absolutely zero say in making their own schedule.

 

You truly can’t make this (stuff) up.🤣
