Last Minute Mini Ireland Golf Trip

Recently got back from a family trip to Ireland. I squeezed in as many rounds of golf as I could throughout the week and figured I'd share some of the courses I played here. I will leave the videos I did of each course below. If you've played any of these courses share some thoughts!

Completely agree. Really wish they could elevate the 17th tee to take advantage of the incredible view. Missed opportunity there I think.

Day we played it, the pin was front left. It was wicked with the huge slope and false front. On of our guys hit it about 6ft short of the pin, then we watched it come all the way down about 15 yds short. I agree, if they would do a little redesign on 15, 16, and 17 it would make a hidden gem even better.

This was our jet lag round and we were running on an hour of sleep lol. We payed $95 for a twilight rate and I agree it’s hard to beat for that price. So many great holes and views out there

Yeah, between $35 for Corballis and $95 for Doonbeg it was like stealing. Corballis was our first round off the plane.

15 is a cool hole, very good green. 16 is a bit marred by the net, but it is a very tight property for 18 holes. 17 is a wildly difficult short hole. Not sure I would change it except for maybe making the green a bit bigger. 

 

Worst thing about Corballis is no beer after the round. Course is a keeper as is.

Oh no doubt it’s a keeper. I was just saying IF they swapped the locations of 15 tee and 16 green it would eliminate the bottleneck. Putting the green in the back corner (where 15 tee is now) would definitely improve 16 and add some yardage. Then move 15 tee to the location of 16 green and it would shorten that hole and not require players to hit over players that are on 16. In addition by making 15 shorter and 16 longer the drives would be landing in different locations instead of the same place on both holes. Then you could move 17 tee to the left and use that dune to raise the tee to increase the view and adjust the playing angle into the green. Then on 18, it could be converted to a par 5 by moving the tee to the dune right of 17 green then moving the green to the practice area between 12 and 13 green. 
However, saying that it’s a hidden gem as is that’s on my list every time I come to Ireland.
