Good to know. Yeah you're right, you have to use what works best for you for sure.

They're definitely gorgeous clubs for sure. I could still end up picking some up to test...the biggest thing for me would probably be the shafts not being a fit and having to do a custom order. And with a custom order, I'm hearing it could be a 7-8 week wait.

If I'm going to wait that long, the clubs just have to be perfect.

Mine are matching my irons. Recoil 95 reg. 2 flat, midsize Tour Velvet. Was told 4 weeks.

Yeah I 100% ordered matching shafts to my irons (modus 115s) and I waited 7 weeks. The nice part was there was no upcharge for any of my customizations (shafts, grips, shaft length).

Makes sense.

Definitely worth the wait if you’re getting something you really like and fits your game!

Has anyone had issues with these wedges coming in lighter in weight than the irons or other wedges you're trying to match them with? I bought a gently used S23 58* with an S400 and it's about 7-8 grams lighter than my RTX 54* with a DG Spinner (which is supposed to be 4g lighter than S400) and 11g lighter than my RTX 58* with an S400. I had been thinking about custom ordering an S23 50* with a Modus 120x to go with my ZX7 iron set, but am afraid of it arriving significantly lighter than both my PW and the 54* that follows.

Way late to the party.  I went to a demo day in my area.  Id pretty much settled on Cleveland CBX4/RTX6 as my new wedges headed into the 2024 season.  I have always loved Mizzy feel and performance going back to the MP53 and MX200 sets I played and foolishly sold.  But never really a Mizzy wedge guy.

I hit the s23 wedges extensively.  Both have great feel (familiar and comfortable).  The s23 was just dropping repeated flights and shots on blankets out there in the 54 and 58 models.  Excellent dispersion.  Very nice to look at and very easy to hit.  Was hitting all the shots I do out there on the course, opening the face, bump n run, etc.  And the wedges just performed.  I wish I would have taken a photo of the full shot dispersion pattern on the screen (top tracer) in the hitting bay.  The strike pattern on the face was perfect.  The shaft was the KBS hi-rev 2.0 115 model.

Definitely gave me something to think of now.

I have a few rounds under the belt now with my S23 wedges. 50/08 S, 54/10 S, 58/04 X.

Had T20 and T22 before them.

The S23 feel pretty much the same as the T22 to me, maybe a little softer. Went from X100 back to S400 so that’s part of it I‘m sure.

They are very consistent and reliable. I’m super happy. Spin is great and they fly the same distance as my T22 did.
Launch is a bit higher with the S400.

The Copper color looks more like gunmetal, absolutely stunning.
Shape is in line with the S series, very nice topline and not too much „beef“ in the back to be visible.

I still don’t understand why they don’t stamp lofts on the soles, but at least they‘ve started doing it with the T24.

I‘m very happy with the S23, highly recommended.

I have a 50 and 56 degree S grind and for the first time since I started playing I can truly say that I found wedges that suit my swing, ability and affordability. My handicap has dropped and continues to drop the more time I get with these. The short game truly is the the most important part of it all for me.

Driver: Ping G410 Plus

Hybrid: Ping G410 #4

Irons: Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal HL 7 & 9

Gap Wedge: Mizuno S23 50/8

Sand Wedge: Mizuno S23 56/12

Putter: Cleveland HB Soft Milled #5

I play a 9 club bag the majority of the time and so my 9 iron, gap wedge and sand wedge have to perform the vast majority of the work around the green. I have an S23 in the gap wedge slot (48/10) and a T22 in the sand wedge position.

I very rarely perform a full swing with the SW and try to avoid using greenside unless absolutely necessary. As a result the Mizuno S23 performs 80%+ of my chipping and virtually all of my partial pitches up to 100 yards. It is absolutely outstanding in this role in the bag. I feel so confident with it and have hit (for me!) some special shots with it.

I find it far more versatile than a set gap wedge, but far easier to use than a full blade wedge for all those shot types. That's quite a combo.

Short update after three more months with them. I play 4-6 rounds per week.

These are the most consistent wedges I ever had. Very reliable distance and spin. They feel great and look sexy. I think the S23 are criminally underrated. I much prefer these to the TM MG 3 and Vokey SM 10 I tried.
I also think these feel softer on slight mishits than the T22.

Sleepers!

They really are one of if not best performing wedges on the market. Several tests independent tests have shown this.

I keep reading about these wedges. Now trying to figure out what brings to go with.

Talking about grinds I‘m guessing.

I really like the X grind in the 58°, but 4° of bounce is hot to handle in some situations. You can lay it totally open with the leading edge hugging the ground and get under the ball easily. Have hit some great bunker and flop shots with it.
The C grind might be easier to use but is less versatile in that way. Haven’t tried it, though, but it’s supposed to be the less extreme version of that type of grind.

The S grind in the 50° and 54° still works well from fluffy to normal sand and semi-soft rough, but I also hit some smooth, satisfying bump and run chips from tighter lies with it. Had no problems on my Scotland trip, where this was a go-to shot around the greens.
Also, I often hit full shots with these two and like the turf interaction.

The term that comes to mind when using these wedges is: consistency. They are just so easy to hit and I‘ve really never felt the kind of repeatability in my pitches and chips before. The T22 were good, but these are better.

I’ve got a set of the s23s 50/54/58 and the 54S is in the bag. It’s my low bounce club to complement the SmartSole4 Sand wedge. I really like it but I don’t like the fact the lofts aren’t on the bottom of the club. It’s very annoying. Other than that…love it. Especially for those tight lies and flops. The 50 hasn’t kicked my 225 Gap wedge, and the 58* will have to cure cancer to beat my Cleveland. But they’re great in the sim.
