Favorite Graphite shaft for 0311 Gen 2,3,4 or 5's irons

Just curious as to what is everyone's pick as I always played Recoils which has been my pick for the longest time playing, played some steel fiber's as they do seem to play stiffer to flex as I'm not sure why so many people favor them. 1st time playing the MMT's as I really do like them but they only are available in the 70 gram range as I guess I could have ask PXG and had them trimmed differently when I bought them or maybe now add a 10 gram weight to my Gen 4's now as they seem very light. I'm not disappointed with them as they do feel nice as I'm playing some of the best golf ever but now looking at some Gen 5's as I may go with the Accra shafts but not much has ever been mentioned about them. Anyhow just wondering what has been a favorite what have you tried, and why did you pick the shaft you now play with.

I have SteelFiber I80 in my Gen 5. It’s my first form with SF and I love them. I had thought they’d be too harsh for me. But find them very comfortable. I like the tight dispersion and few extra yards I got over my NS Pro 850

Hate MMTs. Tried them in Gen 3, 4 and 5 0311P irons, Ping 210, TM 790s and Mizuno 225s always thinking maybe it’s the head. Nope it’s the shafts. Accra I series on the other hand are consistently fantastic in irons, wedges, etc. Keep trying other things in true wrx fashion for no reason because I guess the accras are too consistently good (=boring). The KBS TGI are great too, but are quite stiff. Great if you are coming from steel though.

+1. Accra makes great golf shafts. Their iron shafts are super. Depends on what the OP likes but IMO they are smooth and strong.

Are you only considering options offered by PXG or would you potentially reshaft? If the former I would say strongly consider Accra.

if not, In KBS I am interested in trying the PGI. The TGI are excellent but are indeed very stiff, while I see the slightly friendlier PGI is popular on the LPGA Tour and that’s a better guide as to what I end up liking in terms of feel.

MMT I have tried at 80g and 95g and it is not lively enough for me, even though I do like stability too. My favorite steel shafts are Project X Rifles and KBS C Tapers. So I don’t want a wobbly shaft but I think the MMT is a shaft that suits a certain preference. The metal mesh they added to the tip makes it swing weight heavy and it feels very tip stiff. Many love it, especially at heavier weights. I am about to try a Paderson Kinnetix Ballistic in 2 weights in a few extra iron heads I have sitting around. Have the 95g stiff in a 4 iron and it is stable like the MMT but I feel it more. Paderson brings some interesting concepts to golf shaft design.

Interesting as I think if I go with the Gen 5 P's I will get the Accra shafts. I really thought the favorite would be the MMT. The if I go with the Extreme Black I can get the black reserve SteelFibers as those look sweet. This more than likely be something I change over to in November as I won't be golfing much this winter in Ohio.

Have MMTs in my Gen 2 but moved to Cypher 60 with my Gen 4 irons. I like them a lot better (more height mainly). I really wanted the KBS shafts I tried during the fitting but couldn’t justify the up charge.
