Peter Ulhein and Pat Perez have made a very lucrative decision as did Henrik.

It is raining money on LIV.

"At my age this is an absolute golden opportunity for me. I get to play seven [events] this year and whatever else in the future. It's a no-brainer for a guy my age that's been on the road. I just had three weeks off and I feel great. I couldn't be more excited about this, and that's the bottom line. You know, the bottom line is I'm tired of being on the road every day, and I'm just - I don't have to do it now. This opportunity has been like winning the lottery for me. It's incredible. I couldn't be more excited."

Pat Perez has made $3.7 million so far, which would put him at 26th on the PGA Tour money list for 2021-22. He's only made $700k off his own ball and has been riding Dustin's coattails to the bank.
3 more events for Perez before he's bumped down to the Asian tour.

This is one of the points which keep me from watching LIV.

Maybe if there was some sort of punishment for the worst teams.

If Reed or Sergio’s team came in last, and fans got to pelt them with vegetables? I could get into that.

No cut = no consequences right? Let’s change that.

I like watching LIV golf as their are alot of stars I've followed and liked over the years.  But I LOVE watching the PGA Tour.  Happy for the good guys whose best years are behind them and making some generational changing wealth.

I like the way they do it now. With 3 scores counting on the final day, everybody has a reason to try to play as well as they can. We definitely saw what happens when one or two guys crap the bed with Punch GC. Had Jones or Leishman played well yesterday, Punch probably would have won the team competition. I'm really hoping Adam Scott joins LIV. Cam needs some better talent on his team.

Agreed.  Cam, Scotty, Leish, and Jones would be a pretty formidable team.  I'd also like to see Sebastian Munoz and Mito Pereira come over and have them join Abe Ancer and Joaco on a team.

I think the team element would be more compelling if they took the 2 worst scores for round 1, 3 worst for round 2 and all 4 for the final round.

The team concept is the primary appeal of LIV for me personally.  But as you suggest, they need to find ways to tweak it so every member of the team is accounted for.  It could be as simple as taking the average score of all players for all three rounds.  Here are a few other ideas,

  - In the event of a team playoff, each team would need to include the players with the highest and lowest average scores for the tournament

  - Have at least one event per season that's a team scramble format

  - Allow in-season player trades between teams

BTW, the PGA Tour must modernize to survive; YouTube, Gettr Vision, and TikTok have changed audience expectations.  The PGA Tour product is boring, despite having the best collection of players.  I'd rather watch YouTube golfers like those GoodGood kids than the  PGA Tour at times.

They will have relegation after the 2023 season. Bottom 4 players must re-qualify through entrance tournament. That might make it more interesting.

I made it out for the last half dozen holes yesterday afternoon. Thought I would share my experience with my favorite internet community.

I found it to be, in my humble opinion, pretty impressive. And when I say impressive, please understand that I was looking at it for what it realistically is: an exhibition traveling circus that happens to also have golf being played.

I arrived later in the afternoon. Just enough time to rinse 60 dollars worth of hard seltzer and have a little wander around to get a feel for things. From the moment you hit the gate at one of these things, you immediately get the vibe - the mission they are on...fun.

You walk through something half resembling a circus carnival (there was even a clown on tall stilts) before you even see ropes or a tee box. Fast pitch baseball net, a football toss through a hole cut on a wooden illustration of a receiver angling out towards the flat. A myriad of golf related gimcracks, a barber shop, food vendors, drinks (that were actually pretty reasonably priced for a sporting event) and the stage. Speaking of the stage, I would have loved to have heard the conversation Jason Derulo had with his agent when he agreed to come to the rural western suburbs of northern Illinois to play a golf tournament on a Saturday night. My guess is it went something like this: "You want me to play a what!?" "A golf tournament!!" "Wait, how much they paying!!?" "Book that s***."

It was strange to hit the first tee box and catch Talor Gooch focusing in on a tough little cut 3 wood into a narrow dogleg right fairway while speakers were pumping out a very catchy stream of properly-DJ-mixed youthful dance type numbers. I suspect this is as much to do with setting the fun mood as it is to give some ambient noise to help block the constant stream of wisecracks and conversation carried along by the fans who are not too worried about being quiet when a player is hitting. Anyhow, it was odd, but that didn't last long. Soon it started to just feel proper and fitting for what this thing is...it's an exhibition of the show ponies loosely organized and tenuously represented as a golf competition. And it is hitting it's intended mark. The kids are out, and they are having fun. I even caught the Country Club Adjacent guy behind the 17th green and was able to ask if he was still having nightmares about his attempt to lean into Bill Burr in one of his previous videos. That Country Club Adjacent dude, by the way, is really friendly and really cool. I forget his name, but he was the dark curly haired fella that usually wears a hat.

Anyway, the old Blockster enjoyed himself. LIV is cool by me. If you accept it for what it is and judge it on it's goal of making golf appealing to the younger generations, it's pretty easy to see that - even in it's infancy - it's hitting the mark.

How much was your ticket?

Did they totally miss showing us the TV-audience some really important shots in the end of the final round?

Could have been both Uihlein's and Dustin's tee shots at 16th or something similar. And even some more shots by Uihlein and Dustin in the end.

It might have been that some of the shots were "lost" during that really important interview with the LIV chairman and that black middle aged guy (whom i guess nobody outside the USA knows who he is) that loved LIV golf and had strange pants.

I watched the Chicago tournament on a stream without ads.

Did anybody else miss some key shots made by the top three players at the end?

Really disturbing if you ask me, shows focus on the wrong things.

Bottom 4 players of what? Only singles performance or team and singles combined? There are players that will have played only three or four tounaments. Most likely the relegation spots will go to the likes of Jediah Morgan, James Piot, Shaun Norris e.g. the dudes that do not have guaranteed contracts like Pat Perez. As long as the field is not filled with permanent contract players this relegation is worthless.

I think my wife and I were all in for like 50 bucks for the two of us to go. She got the tickets online. I forget where.

There was also a more expensive option that granted access to the VIP areas with open bars. If I go to another one, I'd probably go that route. It's a party with golf, might as well get the full experience. That and I can work on an open bar like the late great John Pinette could knock over a buffet.
