C-Taper 130 match in graphite??

Pulling my hair out. Absolutely LOVE my C-Taper 130s. Put a fresh set in my Cobra MBs last week, and could not be happier with the irons, all the way from 3i thru wedges.

But I can NOT find a graphite shaft for my long clubs that matches the lively, firm feel I get from the CTs. Closest I've found is the Tour Green 105TX in my hybrid, but it's not really that close.

I may even try a CT130 in a hybrid! But I can't shaft my woods with 'em.

Gary Woodland is the only pro I found who games CT130s, and he plays Accras. RPG M5+ in the driver, tipped 2". That's gotta be a board. And Tour Z x4100 M5 in the 3w and 7w. (Ironically, I also like Accras. Have old SCs in Dr/3w, heavy at 85/95, X-flex at an M5. But they're a little flexy, and long in the tooth. And I can't afford a $500 experiment.)

Sorry if I've already posted about this. But there MUST be a wood shaft out there with a nice crisp, firm snap to it that feels like good steel. The CTs just feel so simple. And graphite shafts feel SO complicated. Help!

TZ RPG Gold would be the closest followed by the Smoke Green Hulk small batch.  Both pretty linear and low/low.

Other C-Taper 130X players:

Justin Rose played Matrix Speed Rulz C 70X in his driver, and Ozik 8M3 X in his 4W.

Cam Champ played Fujikura Pro White TS 63X driver, and PX HZRDUS Black 3W.

Rickie Fowler played C-Taper 125 S+, matched w/ Graphite Design Tour AD IZ-7 X driver, and Aldila Synergy 70X fairways. He's a softie (!)

Old thread but in my experience the HZRDUS T1100 (I have only tried to original version) is the closest graphite shaft to c taper

Since this came up again, from testing dozens of shafts, the closest match to the C-Taper 130X I have found is the HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX 70TX. Almost identical EI signature (softer handle, and then very linear to stiff tip), tipped a lot to reduce torque. In FW I have GD P9003TX, great shaft and good match. OG Tour Green and Blue TX have similar low-torque feel, but slightly different bend points (Green is just below the handle, Blue is midsection - I have 105TX Blue in HB). Other spinoffs like Riptide MX play similarly - I have a 70g MX Proto (TX) in my back up driver. YMMV!

Doesn't the RDX red have a softer tip?  I also remember looking at chart awhile ago and the c-taper is supposed to tip and handle stiff and gets slightly softer in the mid much like the Ventus black family/smoke green hulk/T1100.

70TX RDX Red, tipped 1.5" in driver, is plenty tip-stiff. EI curves are almost identical. And they feel very similar, at least to me. That give at the handle, plus the linear descent, are pretty distinctive. One thing I love about a linear drop all the way to the tip is how predictable tipping is. Same thing for the OG Precision Rifles. I've heard same about Kyoshi White, although I can't personally attest.

Chris Gotterup also plays the KBS C-Taper 130X in his irons and he plays the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70 TX in his driver and the Mitsubishi Diamana WB 83TX in his 5 wood.

 

I would recommend the Project X Hzrdus T1100 or the Fujikura Ventus TR Black in driver / fairway woods and the Fujikura Ventus HB Black 10TX in hybrid / utility iron.
