TSR Fitting

So Im looking for some help interpreting my tsr fitting trackman results from yesterday. I attached a couple screen shots below from the trackman.

Quick little background. I play odd specs vs off the rack stuff. I play 44.5", midsize grip, and pretty heavy overall club weights (my driver is just under 340 grams).

So I started hitting some of my g410 gamer. It was good. My smash was down, but the tee height they had at the GG was a decent bit higher than I play for my driver and I was catching them a touch high on the face. So I guess this makes sense.

Then hit tsr3 in a couple different shafts. I was losing club head speed with it, but kept the ball speed up through the smash being higher. I would have though I'd gain club head speed with tsr3, but I guess maybe I lost a few mph just from how weird the club felt? I was choking up an inch on the tsr, and it felt light. Either way it was about 3mph slower club speed consistently.

Now here's where I'm confused. The fitter pitched me on tsr being better because I was getting a better smash. Basically was insinuating the face was hotter and if I were to go on to swing the club faster in time I'd get a lot more ball speed than the ping. But the more I though about it the same could be true for my ping no? If I struck it better and bring smash up my ping would equally keep up I'd think. Yet he was telling me I was losing ball speed though using such a high moi club.

I dk I don't really know how I should interpret it all. Obviously they are close, and since no one has short shafts and heavy heads for me to try, I'll always be guessing which is better until I buy and modify the club. What's y'all's take. Am I missing something? Do you interpret it the same? Is there a clear winner in your eyes?

Blue was g410, red was my best batch of tsr (open face, toe weight, adiz 6x) if I remember correctly).

You shouldn’t put much stick in CHS as the camera on Trackman can measure different points on a different head.  It may pick them up at a different point in the swing depending on their design.

Ball Speed is King.   The salesman should have stopped there.  The explanation he gave you on smash factor doesn’t hold water.  Based on my comment about CHS.

Always look at ball speed.  Well I’m Addison to spin and launch etc.  but those were all very close.

Nice stars by the way.

Assuming CHS=club head speed? Didn't know that about trackman. So if that's the case, my smash was down with my ping because it was reading my speed as faster, and potentially the opposite the the titleist. My fastest ball speeds were with the Titleist, but also had slightly more standard deviation vs the ping.

Just curious, and I know this answer is different for every person (because of the $$$ factor) but what ball speed increase would you consider material enough to upgrade?

If I remember correctly, pings fastest speed was 174.x, and Titleist was 177.x.

Also, stars? Not sure what that means.

If you're saying the "starred" or highlighted drives, then yes that's the point no? I clearly did that on purpose. He didn't relabel every change that was made to the driver (shaft, hosel setting, weight setting etc.). If I showed the averages that doesn't do much good. The Titleist now would include shots in a less than ideal light because it was not in a setting that worked well for me. If I had just shown that, it looks as though the Titleist is lacking, when it wasn't. Here's that image if that means something. Screenshot_20220917-220150.png.b2cfc7730df32c4bc1626decbc342be5.png

I meant Stats. I had eye surgery this week so my reading and typing are suspect.  Ha

As to how much gain warrants purchasing.   You are correct it’s very individual and budget driven.   But I’d say anything 3 mph or more in ball speed is definitely worthy.  That should equate to 10 to 12 yards od carry.

I'm a fitter and I wouldn't change a driver over 3 yards.  My general rule of thumb is I am looking for about 1 club improvement in distance.  This can be pretty liberal as I get interested at about 7 yards more per club just as much as I get interested in 20 yards more club because both generally mean I can take 1 less club into a green.  The one caveat I have to this is accuracy.  If there is a huge improvement in dispersion, I don't care if I lose 3-5 yards on carry.  If it means my FIR or GIR stats are going up, that is the winner hands down because statistically over time, that means I am going to be making better shots and have more looks at par or better per hole and less time putting pressure on my game via scrambling.

However, I should mention that a well fit club should be both longer and straighter than an ill-fit one.  It looks like your driver is currently fit well to you.  I think a worthwhile experiment would be wait a few months until the TSR have had all the early adopters buy it and move on to the next hot club.  That way you can get your loft of choice, hot melt it, cut it down, add weight, the bigger grip, etc. to your liking and give it a fair test.  Is it going to be cheaper than buying a new driver, no probably not, but based on your preferences the chances of you finding a fitter that is going to be able to accommodate that are going to be pretty slim, IMO.
