My new 923 HMP arrived today. In hand pics. Can’t wait to play tomorrow!!

I ordered these Hot Metal Pro’s on September 25th. Came in today. Thrilled with how quickly Mizuno got them to me! 6-GW. DG 120 S300. 1/2” long and 1* upright. Loved the look and feel of these during the fitting. I know most of you WRXers will call them shovels, but I’m thrilled with them and I can’t wait to hit the course in the morning!!

Nice!!  I have a set of the High Launch on order.   I played 919 Hot Metal and 921 Forged.  Looking forward to these.

I had the 921 HMP. I loved them. These were just more consistent and felt awesome. Maybe it was the shaft or me just wanting something new, but they felt different. I’ll post again after my round tomorrow. I bet you’re gonna love the HL!! Look forward to hearing how you hit them!

I was getting pretty good numbers on them on the Trackman during the fitting.

I just saw them live yesterday and I think they are far from being shovels. Great looking sticks, good luck with them.

Nice pickup, they are great irons.  What's the transition from the HMP PW to the HM GW look like?  That's the one thing I don't get about Mizuno, they don't make a set GW for this set, ever.  Yet they have one for every other set except the 221 (for obvious reasons).  It makes no sense.  Surely it would have taken them an extra 15min for an engineer to tweak some Autocad or whatever software drawings they use to reposition the CG and blend the lines.  It just leaves me scratching my head time and again.

Frustrates the heck out of me. There’s really no excuse for it. It looks alright, I guess. My 921 performed pretty well, but I wasn’t crazy about the offset. It had the same amount of offset as the 6 iron, which made no sense at all. This year there’s less offset. The GW actually has less offset than the PW according to the specs, like it’s supposed to. I figured I’d try it out. For me it’s only a full swing club, so it should be ok. I’ll find out today!

It looks like they did a really job of blending it at least, 0.106 HMP PW to <0.1 on the HM GW is a nice move and would blend fairly seamlessly assuming they transitioned the sole width and top line accordingly.

I can't be moving on from them, they haven't even arrived yet 😉      

 

Just moving the next two sets into the rotation, and moviing the Forged Tec X and T300 out 🙂

 

T200 are scheduled to arrive late next week, so they may beat the HM High Launch in by a week or two.

Much better blend. The sole is the same and the top line is actually a touch thinner than the PW. They must’ve heard the common complaint from players.

Just finished my first round with them, and they’re awesome. Course was relatively quiet so I was able to drop balls all over the place. Played a par 3 with 18 balls. Started at the back tees and moved up to appropriate distances for each iron. 
 

3- 6 irons from 200

3- 7 irons from 185

3- 8 irons from 170

3- 9 irons from 155

3- PW from 140

3- GW from 125

 

Distances were very consistent. Gaps were in the 12 yard range or so. Felt awesome. Ball flight was a touch lower and more piercing than my 921’s. That’s probably the shaft difference from Project X LZ to DG 120 S300. No issues at all with holding the green. Even with the fall greens here being a bit firmer, they moved very little from their pitch. Completely thrilled with them. Money round on Sunday, and I can’t wait!

Those look good and glad to hear they perform also for you jermWRX. I am looking to upgrade from my 919 hmp’s. Also, can’t believe all the pearl clutching over the GW. I have the HM GW and have no issue with it.

These irons are really nice. Long, forgiving and lots of stopping power.
