TXG - Matty's back!

This will be a bit of a deal for some and not for others, but the DirtyDog himself, Matty is back on the TXG channel. No explanation of his abrupt disappearance after TXG reached the deal with Club Champion, but it appears he and Ian remained friends through it all and Matt is back on the channel (along with the old intro!). It's great news for me because TXG is my favourite YouTube channel and I had lost a bit of interest after he left and I'm glad to see the band is back together. There's a live and a TSi3 vs. TSR3 video up on the channel now.

thats awesome !!! the new guys Stewie and Hipster Bro were truly hard to watch....Ian does a lot for content but he doesnt have chemistry with those new guys.

I was originally disappointed to see Matt leave TXG and at the same time was excited to see him have the opportunity venture out on his own.  However, that turned out to be a huge bust for him IMHO.  I never thought the content he produced was all that great when he was on his own.  Just goes to show the grass ain’t always greener on the other side.

Couldn't disagree more. I thought the content he produced with both Larry as well as the testing he's done was really solid. I think his mental health put a halt to him expanding further on his own.

I think Mike is a great guy, very knowledgeable. He's young, yes and because of that can come across as cocky but man at that age, you are compensating for a lot especially if you are successful. Hipster Bro on the other hand, was always hard to watch. I get that the trickshots and whatnot are fun but I couldnt take him serious as a reviewer.

Glad to see Matt back. He and Ian work really well together. I can't relate to his game but I admire the heck out of it and how he can adjust his delivery to illustrate different points Ian wishes to make. They are a great double act.

Was definitely sad to see him go and he's been through a lot with his mental health. I just hope he's doing well and look forward to seeing him smash some drivers.

I realize that he is going thru some stuff, but the live stream and his first video back were definitely...weird. He did NOT seem like his normal self. Especially the live stream. He barely even cracked a single smile and just seemed short.

 

I wonder if there is still some resentment from not making him part of the business/deal with CC (or whatever it was that was going on).

I definitely noticed that as well. He seemed flat and not really himself.

Glad to see Matt back.  The personalities TXG tried to integrate into the channel after Matt left never had any chemistry on screen. For me, it became unwatchable content.  Wish they hadn't hitched their wagon to Club Champion in the first place.  Just went through a CC full bag ( Minus putter ) fitting; and for someone who is familiar with what I am looking at/for in the fitting process, it was a total waste of time & money.

He did, but he did not post much on it.  Took a long break due to mental health issues.

It would be very understandable if Matt had some anxiety about being back on the channel.  I’d give him some time to look completely comfortable.

Heard a rumor he sued them to get back into TXG.  It seems they even changed the video intros back to when he was involved, as he is I believe, a part owner of the online content.  If that were true, they seem to be doing a good job of hiding any awkwardness I would assume there to be.  Who knows….i’m glad he’s back.

I just can't see this this happening. TXG isn't some huge conglomerate with Ian as a spokesperson. If there was a lawsuit, I can't see Ian even capitulating, let alone without any awkwardness as TXG is his baby. I'd bet he'd let the online content die and just build clubs before he was forced to take somebody back into the fold. What seemed more reasonable is that, as mentioned above, Matty wanted part of the CC deal and wasn't allowed in on it so he left. As for the intro music, I think it's a very rational assumption that Matty's production company is the entity that paid for the usage rights and it came back with him.

Do you know how much money they pull in from those Youtube videos?  I’m sure its quite the healthy sum.  Also, who said he sued Ian.  Perhaps he sued CC?   Dunno, tbh.  Its sounds plausible though.
