Best Monitor for dialing in distance

Looking through the sea of threads here it is difficult to find opinions on which monitor(if any) is the best for dialing in distances on all shots, but mostly on full iron shots.  Cost and setup needs arent a huge factor as I have space.  Thanks in advance for any input.

You may have asked a non-controversial question like:

 - Which religion is best

 - Blondes or Brunettes

🙂

I have a GC Quad and am very happy with it.  I also use Arccos and have a very good correlation between the two. The only issue is if you are hitting indoors, it takes a while before you are comfortable swinging indoors and swing at normal speeds

I guess this partially answers my question.  If it is that controversial then I can choose any of the top 2-3 premium offerings and it will be great.  If there was a clear "accuracy in distance" winner WRX would easily identify it:).  FYI no problem hitting indoors or outdoors.  I would use the system for both.  I hit indoors fairly often but have always questioned the accuracy of the distances (sometimes too far, other times too short)

To answer your other "difficult" questions:

1. Mormons

2. Redheads

GC quad if you are going to be using it both in and outdoors. The most important part (IMHO at least) is using your gamer ball, which is easier to do indoors unless you are at a high end club with pro V1 range balls. You can bench mark it indoors and then bring it out on the course to see how you do outdoors off real turf.

The quad is great too since you can see how much strike location influences distance

Thanks for the insight.  I actually hadnt considered the effect of using my ball brand of choice in dialing in distance.  The range I frequent has relatively good range balls, but not premium by any stretch.  Im sure it is even more apparent on shots from 120yards and in.  Any issues with the GC Quad on those wedge shots indoors?

Nope, it's incredibly accurate indoors, especially on wedges and partial wedges. That is actually where it excels IMHO, radar can struggle with club data (and thus spin axis) on wedges, even more so indoors if you don't have a good environment.

Any suggestions on purchasing avenues for the GC Quad essential accessories etc?  Frankly I was already leaning that direction.

I purchased my quad from Greg, he does all the other stuff as well.  My other recommendation is using a fiberbuilt mat if you are doing to hit a lot. Not 100% realistic in terms of feel, but you can take a divot with zero shock on the arms/wrists/elbows.

My BLP/GC3 reports a rather low carry distance compared to Trackmans and GC2 indoors and Trackman and real course results outdoors.

I bought a BLP to check out Foresight as I was happy with the old clapped out GC2s at the Dick's and Galaxy Golf in my area but can't get my BLP to report similarly.

A firmware update was released today so I was optimistic in light of my support case going unanswered after sending in requested shot data but alas, now FXPlay and BLP on board display report different carry distances and still seems a bit low.  However seems the new firmware may have recalibrated the Barometric sensor as my altitude nearly doubled after update.  Maybe just need a application update for FXP and it will sort itself out.

BLP screen is showing +7 yd carry compared to FXP display.  I believe the BLP was underreporting by more like 15-20 yds though.

Instead of a GC Quad or Hawk upgrade I'll probably jump to the Trackman next year sometime.

I went with Trackman.  Didn't want to have to deal with stickers on my clubs.

So are you happy with Trackman indoors? How often is it having to calculate numbers, rather than capture them?

I like Trackman personally, but admittedly it has been a while since I've experienced Foresight and the FSX software. The two biggest reasons why are all the Trackman data points, and the software experience. It has a lot of different practice settings, a good UI, and the simulation is just better from others I've experienced.

The sticker thing is a pain, but honestly how many of us play in tournaments that  you have to take them off. I worked at Big box and have done thousands of fittings with both. You will have days where both are the same and days we hear they are different or neither just doesn’t work. In every thread in this section it all comes down to space and budget. Foreseight from the beginning is going to be 15-20 less than TM if you are paying retail for a fully loaded. FS cost will start to add up when buying courses.
