It’s been that way forever. It’s because unlisted products many times don’t have complete details or even photos taken of it. They can’t list hundreds of items with no photos and shaft or etc details missing. Also many times the unlisted item only has one of the item in stock so why bother going through all that just for one product.

They just post stock photos of the item and then list whatever inventory they have so it’s not like they are giving you a photo of actual used item.

 

maybe it’s been like that forever, I just didn’t know.  Doesn’t mean I have to purchase from them once I found out about the practice

If they aren’t discounted call them. Reps can typically mark it down 20%.

The condition of my new hybrid was better than I expected, although it was odd that they threw in a UW headcover for an Apex 21 hybrid.

How’s the stock shaft? I didn’t pull the trigger because I didn’t know if that would fit my swing.

Got my order of 4 clubs. One of them was a wedge in the shaft I wanted. The club was left handed even though I ordered a right handed one... Pretty amazing that they had both a sticker on the face and on the shaft that said it was a right handed club even though they are left handed. This was a first for me....

The one I ordered has the MMT 70 shaft. I only hit 3 or 4 shots with it, but it felt similar to the KBS TGI 70 in my TEE hybrids.

It's happened to me a few times.  Right sticker (what I ordered) on the wrong club and LH being sent for a RH order.

 

Edit:  Removing my thoughts on why this is happening because it's all speculation.

I see their feedback on eBay is down to 96% with a TON of complaints regarding shipping the wrong club and clubs getting damaged shipped with no packaging.  It’s crazy nobody in management has reviewed these issues and done something about it.

It just baffles me they don't just put on the headcovers they throw in the box. Of my 4 clubs, the wedge and driver heads were on one side and the two hybrids were on the other side, banging each other. I think because I had 4 clubs, they didn't move around, but they are just asking to get banged. Luckily, CPO customer service is top notch, but still a hassle having to go to UPS to return damaged clubs when it happens (or LH instead of RH shipped).

Not that it matters, but they haven't cared about the no packaging clubs getting damaged ever.

And it's almost comical how theres always a cover in a bag thrown in the box.  I don't care who you hire and what they know/don't know.  It's kinda obvious that needs to be put on lol.

You would think it would be easier to ship them with the covers on or heads packed vs constantly getting calls and having to issue returns or refunds!

What have recent experiences been with order shipment time?  Website says 1-3 days I think, but used to be able to count on next business day shipping.

IMO after seeing how the "warehouse move" shook out its becoming clear that the old CPO operation was unsustainable for Callaway. It seems like it's almost WORSE right now, but I bet you its not in comparison to the amount of returns/etc they had previously and possibly slimmer margins with the detached location and logistics/etc.

 

You can kind of deduce that by how good it was for consumers. You rarely see a business run like that for so long. Callaway being such a large company it was probably allowed for many years before being focused on by operations/penny pinchers.

 

I think CPO got consolidated and slimmed down/"streamlined" and as a side effect the good parts were all stripped out (clearance, oddball clubs, "screaming deals", etc). They probably dont bother with any of that anymore and just bulk sell entire bins of clubs out to second-hand retailers.

 

The CPO EU web store is kind of the same way. Its like a sad little scarce trade-in site with few items.

I think we need to keep in mind that the entire reason CPO exists is because they want loyal customers to trade up to their new line of clubs each year and they have to do something with all of the old junk people are trading back in. I’m guessing we’re the minority that are just using the site to find bargains while not supporting their new releases.

I buy stuff on CPO as well as trade stuff in for new releases. Heck, I’ve traded in several CPO purchases toward new releases for more than I bought those clubs for on CPO!

Not sure if it was already mentioned, but it seems like the issues lately are due to CPO moving to a bigger warehouse. Cole just made a post on reddit outlining the issues, but it looks like CPO will be back to running smoothly now after some growing pains.

The biggest problem since the move is that the inventory is gutted. They used to get so many new items in everyday, most of the time. The shafts being available and clearance section etc.

 

If those don't return back to normal it will stay pretty lackluster.

Snagged a couple Jaws Raw wedges for $68 and Paradym 9 wood for $108. All came wrapped in plastic. Not bad deals but I sure do miss the Clearance section. Hopefully they bring it back.
