…and yes the garage putters are a complete crapshoot and they know it that’s why they’re not listed on the website. There’s so many attributes to them they haven’t figured out how to list them all yet and most are miss marked. 

Agreed and Cole says no problem to return if not correct.  I was so hopeful this was going to be “The One”! 0 for 4 now 😞

Got my Scotty’s in today from the deal I posted - they were advertised as average but were all basically new. Crazy they were also $159 average each as well 🤯

Definitely had tip weights in them but all were D1.5 

 

Best guess was they were built by tour truck for testing for a Champions Tour player.

BRNR Mini just came in, very happy for a "good" condition. The crown/top line looks clean, which is all I worry about with that condition. 

 

Now it's time to put it up against the Ai Smoke TD from the ventus thread.

Just ordered a Toulon Portland with a 34” Stroke Lab shaft. Plus it was 25% off which made the deal even better. I have been looking for one for a while. I had an original Portland with a steel shaft and always regretted trading it in. It had the best feel and look of any putter I have owned. Now I have to go into my headcover box and get the Portland specific head cover out.

Surprisingly not, listed under iron sets. No idea why they didn’t add the AW to the set itself, since I found it in the single irons for $37, exact same specs as the set lol

I am able to sort by flexes and shaft types and see different prices pop up but yeah it’s def not input correctly.

 

they are also not supposed to be 25% off I’d bet so if anyone finds something they like now’s the time to do it

I ordered the 2018 Scotty Fastback 2 from Pre Owned that was posted in here a couple weeks ago. Instead of the Fastback 2, I received what appears to be a 2014 Newport 2. But after looking at it more the past few days I’m pretty certain it’s a fake:

 

1. No serial number on the shaft. I even blew off the grip thinking maybe it was higher up on the shaft

2. Doesn’t pass magnet test 

3. Can’t get the weights out using blow torch or heat gun to help loosen them up. The holes on the weights are very shallow. Also, this is 35 inch version so should be 10 gram weights

4. Overall feel and quality. Just doesn’t feel high end compared to my current Scotty or any others I’ve hit. Also finish and paint chip easily, sloppy hosel glue, etc.

 

I realize Preowned will refund me at a minimum, but this makes me skeptical of ordering non Callaway items from there. And I’ve ordered quite a bit over the past couple years.

Funny you mention that. I received a 14 Newport marked as a 2012 but looks to be real?

The finish on yours definitely looks better. And the lettering on the back of the neck much thicker. 
 

That confirms mine is definitely fake.

Not crazy. It happens from every large used club seller. They hire non golfers in the warehouses at these large operations and sometimes it slips through. They will refund it 100% so it’s a non issue.

The CPO CoA is just a marketing shtick and I would be the first to say it. Its a general outline of policies they offer anyway irregardless of receiving that cute email after purchase. It's just a mental guarantee and reminder for purchasers of their used clubs about their warranty and company policy and nothing more.

 

At the end of the day it's a minimum wage employee in a warehouse who may or may not know about golf or even speak english - whether it's 2nd Swing, Global Golf, CPO, ProClubs, etc - counterfeit items make it accidentally through inspection every year to a small %.

 

For example, I have received a fake Tour AD shaft from ProClubs before. They 100% paid for return shipping and my full item price. I wasnt mad and I understand it happens.
